When you have completed the activities on the bookmark, return to the Library to receive your prize! If you were a character in a book, what would you say? Drop into the branches and write a postcard from the perspective of that character. Make a pinecone bird feeder to feed the birds in your backyard. Ages 4 to 12 September 11:00 a.m. Hey kids! Plan to be a part of our 14th Annual Share Your Stories Writing Contest! Write about what interests you in the form of a short story, a graphic novel or a poem. The contest will kick-off during Ontario Public Library Week, with a special visit from Joel Sutherland, author of the Haunted Canada series, on Thursday October 19th. To continue the excitement on Thursday November 2nd cartoonist/illustrator, Josh Rosen, will be sharing the graphic novel process. Entries will be judged by members of your own community so be sure to get busy -- this is your contest! The contest is open to children in grades 1 to 12 who live in or go to school in Cobourg or Hamilton Township. The deadline for submissions is Saturday, November 25th, Wrap-up celebration is on Saturday December 2nd at 10:00 a.m. More information will be posted on the Library s website, social media and in the Library.
