1 ALL SAINTS CATHOLIC SCHOOL SCHOOL NEWSLETTER, 12/7/16 Every day through Advent, the Superintendent of Catholic Schools for the Archdiocese of Milwaukee, Dr. Kathleen Cepelka sends to the leadership in the 100+ Catholic Schools a daily reflection. I find the scripture, prayer and message gives me pause and often, through God s grace, speaks to whatever tasks are facing me for the day. Below is today s Scripture passage and message from Dr. Cepelka: "Come to me, all you who labor and are burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me for I am gentle and humble of heart My yoke is easy, and my burden is light. Matt. 11:28-30 We are nearing Advent s midpoint in our schools. Programs, concerts, exams, duties, and deadlines may be competing for center stage in our hurried lives. Details are straining for attention against the big picture, the long view, the reason for this holy time. On this 75 th anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor, we reflect on our responsibility as Catholic educators [parents, grandparents, supporters] to be instruments of peace in our day, in our schools, and in our world-- mindful of the One whose work we re doing, whose yoke we bear. Come, Lord Jesus. Our school is filled with signs of the Advent season. There are Advent wreaths, Jesse trees, and candles adorning the hallways. The children are sharing stories of their elves, not sitting on shelves, moving about their homes in anticipation of Christmas. It is a beautiful and holy time of year. I pray Advent provides each of us with the time and space necessary to prepare our hearts for Christmas. Blessings, Dr. Jackie Lichter Advent Wreath Prayer for the Second Week of Advent Stir up our hearts, O Lord, to prepare the ways of Thine only-begotten Son, that through His coming we may be worthy to serve Thee with purified minds. Who livest and reignest, with God the Father, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God, world without end. Amen. Together we will teach children to see the world through the eyes of Christ and to model the lives of the Saints in a rigorous academic environment.

Please do not send in money without an envelope. Money gets transferred from your child, to the teacher, to the office and sometimes from campus to campus. 9 Parents, On Wednesday, December 14th, the ASCS students from all campuses will be gathering at the South campus for multiple events to practice for the evening s Christmas program, and to perform for the afternoon Gr. 4-8 Christmas Pre-Concert/Dress Rehearsal at 12:30 pm. Because of the full day of activities we are asking that all students be dropped off and picked up at the South campus. If your child is from the North or West campus and typically rides the bus, please also make arrangements to drop him/her off and pick-up at the South campus. If your child normally takes the bus home, there will be bus service for release for both North & South at the South campus at the normal dismissal time. Drop-off at South campus (7am-7:40am)- Please consider dropping your child off earlier (beginning at 7am) to avoid long lines. Teachers and staff will be escorting children into the building and directing traffic in the parking lot beginning at 7am. You may drop your child off at the South campus entering onto the playground using the Northwest entrance of the parking lot/playground(40th Ave) and exiting at the South end of the parking lot. It is not advised to park east of 39th Avenue, as there is not a crossing guard on duty and the traffic is heavy at this time. Cardinal Care will be available from 6am-7am in the cafeteria at no cost if your child will be arriving before 7am. If you are a South campus parent Drop off your child as you would on a rain day. The students should go directly into the building to their classrooms, instead of the cafeteria, when arriving anytime after 7am. If you are a North or West campus parent...
