EUCHARISTIC MINISTERS NEEDED FOR WESLEY GLEN Due to the departure of two people over the past year for health reasons, we are in need of three people (four would be heaven) who are trained Eucharistic Ministers who could be on a team which goes on Sunday to give Communion to those in the Health Center and Main Building. You would go once a month after one of the Sunday Masses. The team would have a schedule of which areas you would take. You can go at a time convenient to you. They alternate areas so that you become familiar with all of the residents and both buildings. Each parish in the diocese is responsible for whichever nursing homes are in their boundaries. OLP services Wesley Glen. The residents are very happy and grateful for the loving service of our ministers from OLP. Our next Community Blood Drive will be August 19, 2018, from 9:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. The Blood Drive will be held in the OLP Old Rectory (door to the right of main church doors). 3 NINETEENTH SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME AUGUST 12, 2018 CAN YOU SPEND ONE HOUR WITH ME? Eucharistic Adoration is held on the first Thursday of each month from 9:00 a.m.-6:45 p.m., September to May. Benediction will take place at 6:45 p.m. Prayer support is very important for all of us. As a Catholic, it is our privilege to participate in the Eucharistic Sacrifice and in receiving Holy Communion. But there are many additional acts of devotion that help extend Christ's real presence among us. One such devotion is Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament. Would you sign up and commit for one hour of Adoration each month at a specific time? If you are not able to commit each month, please sign the Adoration List when you do come, so we will know that we have at least two people praying at all times in front of the Blessed Sacrament. Father Johnson will be hearing Confessions from 11:00 a.m. until noon and again from 3:00-4:00 p.m. If you can sign up, please drop this form in the collection basket and we will type your name on our Adoration List each month. 5 NINETEENTH SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME AUGUST 12, 2018 OUR LADY OF PEACE SCHOOL UNIFORM EXCHANGE The OLP Uniform Committee will hold its Summer Uniform Exchange in the School Cafeteria on Sunday, August 19. Due to the Commitment Mass and Open House, the Exchange will be open from 10:00-11:30 a.m. prior to the Commitment Mass and then from 12:30-1:30 p.m. during the Open House. This exchange is an opportunity to donate any gently used uniform items that your children have outgrown and select the items that you will need during the fall. You may drop the donations off at the school office or at 264 East Schreyer Place from now until Friday, August 17. Then, please join us on Sunday, August 19, to select what you need. You may also bring your donations with you on the day of the exchange. Even if you don t have any items to donate, please join us in selecting what you need. You may always donate items at a later date or provide a small monetary donation to the Home and School Association on Sunday (donations are appreciated but are not required).
