35 WEST POINT PARENTS CLUB INFORMATION 1. Parents of West Point cadets experience unique challenges as their sons and daughters undergo a rugged and demanding training program. Membership in a West Point Parents Club offers an opportunity for mutual support, fellowship, and access to useful information about the Academy and cadet life. At present, there are more than 100 clubs throughout the United States and abroad. 2. The goals of these independent organizations are as follows: a. To offer opportunities for fellowship and mutual support among cadet families. b. To provide a means of communication between the Academy and cadet parents. c. To enhance the image of the United States Military Academy in the local area. d. To promote interest in attending the Academy. 3. Typical club activities are meetings, summer gatherings to welcome new cadets and their families, informal get-togethers, and holiday balls. Most clubs communicate information to their members through newsletters, telephone chains, individual telephone calls and/or electronic mail. 4. If you are interested in receiving additional information about parents clubs, please stop by the Plebe-Parent Weekend 2004 Reception Center in Eisenhower Hall, send an message to yd2883@usma.edu or send the form printed below to the following address: United States Military Academy ATTN: Public Affairs Office (Parents Club Coordinator) West Point, New York NAME ADDRESS TELEPHONE NAME AND CLASS OF CADET I would like information on the nearest West Point Parents Club.
