3 July 2018 FREE Monday Movies 1:00 p.m. 3:30 p.m. The movies shown at the Griffin Center are rented through Netflix. Occasionally, the movie ordered does not arrive on time. We have a collection of movies as back-up and apologize for any disappointments when the scheduled movie is postponed. Your suggestions for future movies are welcome. July 2 The Post: When the Washington Post agrees to publish the leaked Pentagon Papers -- which point to a secret escalation of the Vietnam War -- the Nixon administration tries to block publication, setting off an epic legal and political battle. July 9 The Shape of Water: During the Cold War era, lonely Elisa works as a cleaning lady in a top-secret U.S. government laboratory. But her life is altered forever after she and a co-worker stumble upon a hush-hush experiment. July 16 Wonder: Entering fifth grade will be momentous for Auggie -- because at last, he'll get to be ordinary. While his facial deformity has previously kept him from attending regular schools, Auggie is determined to make his classmates see beyond his face. July 23 The Book of Henry: Naomi Watts stars as Susan, a single mother of two, working as a waitress in a small town, but everything in her life is not what it seems. Her son, Henry (Jaeden Lieberher), is an 11-year-old genius who not only masters academics, but manages the family finances and acts as emotional support for Susan. When Henry finds out that the girl next door, Christina, has a terrible secret, Henry and Susan take matters into their own hands in this imaginative and emotional drama from director Colin Trevorrow. July 30 Bombshell: The Hedy Lamarr Story: Remembered as one of the most ravishing stars of her day, screen legend Hedy Lamarr had brains and beauty -- which are on full display in this illuminating documentary that spotlights her World War II-era coinvention of wireless communication forms.
