2 INTRODUCING THE PENINSULA MARINA! An exciting waterfront amenity for our residents coming in 2013 Miromar Lakes announces the addition of a one-of-a-kind marina to its award-winning amenities. The Peninsula Marina will be a destination for boating, fitness, relaxation and social events. Located past the Murano neighborhood, the marina will include Bocce Courts, a fitness circuit, 30 boat slips, an entertainment pavilion for social events, a seating pavilion and restrooms. The Peninsula Marina will be the perfect venue for outdoor fitness classes including tai chi, meditation and yoga. 3 ART ON THE LAKE Call to Artists Miromar Lakes Beach & Golf Club presents its 5th Annual Art on the Lake on Sunday, January 27 from 12 to 3 p.m. Stroll the waterfront promenade while browsing the works of art from a growing number of fine artists from throughout Southwest Florida. Purchase the annual Art on the Lake poster with proceeds benefiting, ARTSPEAK, an art education program for autistic students in the Lee County Schools. Guests can play the professionally staffed gaming tables and enjoy a buffet dinner and drinks at the Beach Clubhouse. Miromar Lakes residents have raised more than $100,000 in the past two years, resulting in two new homes for families in need. Tickets are $100. Miromar Lakes will be honored for its 2012 achievements and contributions to the community, including winning the International Gold Nugget Merit Award, the Developer of the Year Award and the tremendous success of the Southwest Florida Wine & Food Fest held at Miromar Lakes Beach Clubhouse, now the largest fundraising event in Lee County. 5 . The Social Scene The 5th annual Taste of Miromar will be held Saturday, March 23 from 6:30 to 10 p.m. at the Miromar Golf Clubhouse. This popular event benefits the Harry Chapin Food Bank and the Wings of Shelter. Enjoy creations from Miromar s amateur resident chefs, an auction, ½ price drinks and a few surprises added in! The game will also be on in the bar lounge and lite fare will be offered. Treat your sweetheart to a very special evening at the Valentine s Dinner Dance on Thursday, February 14 at 6 p.m. at the Beach Clubhouse. The dynamic musical duo of Soli and Andre will entertain with live dancing music. The Kidz Lovebug Bash is also scheduled from 6 to 9:30 p.m. in the Theater at the Beach Clubhouse, so parents have the perfect alternative for entertaining the children. Reservations are required for both. Celebrate the President s Day weekend with a Traditional Clam Bake on Sunday, February 17 at 4 p.m.! Enjoy this New England style seafood extravaganza at the Blue Water Beach Grill. Reservations required. 8 CONCIERGE SERVICES Maintenance Tip If your residence is equipped with a spa bathtub you should fill it and run the jets for 15 minutes at least once a month to exercise the pump and keep the seals lubricated. The same is recommended for unused showers to avoid mineral deposits and costly plumbing repairs. A Concierge Plan is a tremendous convenience and value. Two available options give homeowners flexibility in services. The Personal Concierge Service Plan and the Keyholder options both allow you to save more than 60% on the included services. FIRE LANES Residents are reminded that there is no parking allowed in front of the Beach Clubhouse and Golf Clubhouse. Please use the circle only for convenient drop off. Parking is also prohibited along the curb outside the Blue Water Beach Grill. Both areas are reserved for emergency vehicle access. MEETING MATTERS The monthly Resident Question and Answer Session takes place on the first Tuesday of every month at 1:30 p.m. in the Theater at the Beach Clubhouse unless otherwise notified. Hearts of Miromar Ladies Club is a wonderful way to meet new people and foster friendships. Luncheon meetings are held the first Monday of every month at 11:30 a.m. in the Beach Club dining room unless otherwise noted. The Annual Cardboard Boat Regatta will cast off from the beach near Marine Services on Sunday, April 7, at 11 a.m.! Now is the time to get onboard with this yearly tradition. Recruit a crew of friends, family and neighbors and start designing your vessel for this fun filled flotilla! Marine Services has packets of information including tips on designing your boat.we look forward to seeing you on the water! OPEN WATER SWIMMING RETURNS TO MIROMAR LAKES Miromar Lakes will host the Open Water Swim Festival and 5K National Masters from Friday, April 26 through Sunday, April 28, Last year USA Swimming held its 5K and 10K National Championships at Miromar Lakes. 10K silver medalist Haley Anderson went on to become the silver medalist at the Olympic Games in London. Come out and cheer on these youth and collegiate athletes as they strive to become the next members of Team USA! 11

10 Spa & Fitness Fitness Classes Beach Walk: Intense Boot Camp style workout on the beach. Body Sculpt: A total body workout using dumbbells, body-bars, stability balls, exercise bands and more! Gentle Yoga: Beginner yoga teaches basic yoga positions. Increase balance and flexibility. Intermediate Yoga: Increase strength, stamina, balance and flexibility. Some yoga experience recommended. Low Impact Aerobics: Fun for all ages! Cardio, strength training, abs and stretch. Pilates: Strengthen the core muscles and enhance flexibility and balance. Sculpt Circuit: A course of exercise combining cardio and strength training techniques. Spinning: Cycling provides an aerobic fitness journey for all levels. Stretch and Relax: This open level class is a fusion of yoga, Pilates and relaxation exercises. Tai Chi: A Chinese martial art with gentle low impact movements.
