Please make your hotel reservations by directly calling the Historic Plaza Hotel at or and ask for the NEW MEXICO LEAGUE OF ZONING OFFICIALS ROOM BLOCK. In order to receive this special room rate, you must make your room reservations by Tuesday, September 4 th, which is the cut-off date. Thereafter, rooms are on an availability basis at the regular rates. - URGENT - IT IS IMPERATIVE THAT YOU MAKE YOUR ROOM RESERVATIONS As Soon As Possible or by September 4 th. The Historic Plaza Hotel may be full to capacity with other groups and only a limited number of rooms are reserved in our room block. 2 TO: FROM: NEW MEXICO LEAGUE OF ZONING OFFICIALS Ben Maynes, CZO, President NMLZO Building Inspector SUBJECT: SEPTEMBER 19-21, 2012 NMLZO ANNUAL MEETING DATE: August 8, 2012 The Annual Meeting/Workshop of the New Mexico League of Zoning Officials (NMLZO) is scheduled for September 19th through the 21st. It will be held in Las Vegas at the Historic Plaza Hotel, 230 Plaza, This meeting will offer the Second Workshop of Series Thirteen. Each Series offers four workshops toward the completion of the NMLZO Basic Certification Program, and toward credits for the Continuing Certification Program (CCP). The sessions offered at this meeting will be part of the core certification requirements. Delegate registration for the meeting will begin at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, September 19 th. Thereafter, the meeting will commence at 1:00 p.m. and will conclude at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, September 21 st. This conference program will offer an interesting line up of timely issues that will include a rolling Tour of various Historic Sites on Thursday afternoon. Please refer to the Preliminary Program contained in this Brochure which will also be posted on the web at click on Subsections then on Zoning Officials or click on Events/Training and scroll down to meeting dates. SPECIAL NOTE: Please encourage your Commissioners to attend this entire meeting. Please make this packet available to them. The registration fees are as follows: Full Conference -- $185 early registration; $230 late registration. So register early to save (by 9/4)!! Please fill out the attached Registration Form and return it to the NM Municipal League office no later than Tuesday, September 11 th so that adequate meal and space arrangements can be made. It can also be found on our webpage. URGENT: Attendance at all NMLZO Workshops is very important and attendance is monitored and verified. Therefore, if you register for the Workshop, please plan to attend ALL of the workshop sessions. Credit will be given only if you actually attend all of the sessions for the basic certification program, and for the continuing certification program. This is an effort to sustain the credibility of our Workshops as well as our Association. For sleeping accommodations, please refer to the Hotel Information on the last page. In order to be eligible to run for the Board of Directors, to serve on any Committee, to vote on any issue, to apply for scholarships, to become a Certified Zoning Official (CZO), or to Recertify, you must be a Member of the New Mexico League of Zoning Officials for Fiscal Year If you are unsure whether your Membership Dues Renewal Invoice of July 1, 2012 was paid or whether you are a member or not, please refer to the Membership List on the website address listed below. If your name does not appear on the Membership List then please join the NMLZO by filling out the NMLZO Membership Application form (download from website).
