2 Dear Scoutmaster: STEM PROGRAM: this is an invitation for your Scouts to participate in the STEM Merit Badge College on Saturday March 17, 2018 at Chattanooga State Community College. The STEM Merit Badge College will give your scouts an opportunity to earn one of eighteen badges offered in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. The instructors are Chattanooga State faculty members who will involve Scouts in informative and challenging sessions and introduce them to a college environment as well as a possible career and higher education opportunities. Due to the varied subject matter, please counsel Scouts on choosing a merit badge that is appropriate to the Scout s experience and age. Scouts should come in complete uniform. AGE: Scouts must be 12 years of age or in the 7 th grade to attend. Adult Leader program will be provided throughout the day $20/youth and $10/leader. Includes lunch and patch. Some Requirements will have to be completed after MBC. Scout Leaders: Be Prepared! To get the most out of Merit Badge College, Scouts should: 1. Bring a current merit badge book. 2. Read the merit badge book before MBC. 3. Bring a notebook and pen/pencil. 4. Register a friend and bring them along! 5. HAVE FUN! 1.
