1 Position Responsibilities Lead Support Executive Committee Chartered Organization Representative K of C holds the Charter, gives the troop a place for special meetings and Eagle Courts of Honor, and enters into mutually beneficial partnerships with the troop. Greg Scherschel N/A Troop Committee Chairman Facilitates Troop Committee meetings on a monthly basis. Accountable to the Chartered Organization for overall Troop Committee and Program functions. Manages Troop Business. Maintains the Troop Handbook. Conducts new parent orientation and annual parent meeting. Encourages leader training. Matt Smith N/A Scoutmaster Overall responsibility in delivering the program to the Scouts. Provides Youth Leadership Opportunity and Training. Attends weekly Troop Meetings, PLC Meetings, District Round Table Meetings, Campouts, advises youth leaders in planning and carrying out troop meetings and activities. Approves Service Projects. Darren Green See ASM Troop Committee Secretary Takes minutes of Troop Committee Meetings. Publishes a monthly newsletter for parents. Schedules facilities for Troop meetings and fundraisers. Secures approval from Parish Council and submits Unit Money-Making Application to District. Mike Noll Troop Treasurer Keeps an accounting of the Troop General Fund and banking accounts. Keeps an accounting of Scout and Scouter BINGO accounts and periodically reports balances. Periodically provides a report to the Troop Committee. 2 Position Responsibilities Lead Support Advancement Committee Advancement Chair Assures that BSA Advancement Policies are followed. Coordinates BOR for all ranks. Participate in all Eagle BOR s and sends appropriate notice upon completion. Maintain and update Scout advancement records in paper form and in Troopmaster. Order and prepare awards for Courts of Honor. Assures that Merit Badge Blue cards are properly signed off and recorded in Troopmaster. Signs off in Scout s book that Merit Badge requirement has been met for rank. (POR signoff is by Scoutmaster once Contract has been approved.) Generate award report 1 week prior to COH. Orders all MB, rank, awards, service pins, etc. and assures they are available for COH s. Assures that Scouts receive awards and collects those un-awarded to hold for next COH. Maintains supply of POR, Trained, Patrol, etc. patches and assures that Scouts receive them. Purges all > 1 year old camporee patches for Flodder Bucks Auction. Dan Shaver (will take care of insignia box) Registrar Prepare and submit annual recharter. Verify Boys Life subscription accuracy on recharter. Review recharter with SM and CC for scout and adult accuracy before submission. Process all youth and adult applications. Maintain adult training records in Troopmaster. Maintain status of Journey to Excellence Scorecard and regularly report to the Troop Committee. Maintain Merit Badge Counselor roster and registrations. Coordinate/maintain reordering of Troopmaster Web and Troop Desktop software. Scott Allman Activities Chair Support outing leaders complete tour permits upon request. Make necessary reservations for outings upon request. Assure proper completion and recording of outing reports in Troopmaster. Post Service Project and Eagle Project service hours in Troopmaster and Good Turn for America website. Run Troopmaster reports upon request (e.g. OA Elections, and phone lists, etc.) Encourage Scouts and parents to routinely check Troopmaster records for accuracy. 3 Assistant Scoutmasters - Patrol Advisors Assistant Scoutmasters / Patrol Advisors Attends BSA ASM Training. Advises each Patrol Leader and Quartermaster. Supports each Patrol in campout planning; signs off on grub plans, etc. Attends as many outings as possible to support patrol. Signs off on Scout requirements. 4 Scout Advisors Position of Responsibility Advisor Chaplain Aide Advisor Updates the Position of Responsibility contracts prior to each Troop election. Promotes spiritual tone for troop and committee meetings, provides guidance to scout chaplain aide, encourage religious award activities. Coordinates Scout Sunday Mass with Cub Scouts, Brownies and Girl Scouts. Quartermaster Advisor Works with Youth Quartermaster. Keeps inventory of troop equipment; makes recommendations concerning new appropriations and upgrades or maintenance items. Manage repairs as necessary. 5 Adult s Eagle Court of Honor Coordinates Eagle Ceremony plans with troop, committee, Eagle Scout, and his parents. Maintains the Troop 555 Eagle Scout Court of Honor Guidebook with input from the Committee Chair. Monica Luehrmann Christine Pflueger Troop Youth Recruiter Coordinates troop recruiting activities. Coordinates with district & council initiatives. Promotes troop in community, church, school, and Knights of Columbus. Glory Kulczycki Activity Uniform Shirt Coordinates purchase and sales of troop s Activity Uniform shirts. Troop Neckerchief Manage the fabrication and embroidery of troop insignia on red neckerchiefs for Scout uniforms. Monica Luehrmann Service Projects Investigates Service Project opportunities and shares them with the Troop Committee and Scouts. Organizes an annual troop service project. Serves as focal point for requests for service projects. Cheryl & John Lamb Health / Safety Chairman Assures that all scouts and scouters have required medical forms completed prior to summer camp and maintains up-to-date medical forms for each scout. Leroy Brown Scott Allman will take over in 2015 Webmaster Establishes and maintains the Troop website. May assist scout webmaster to maintain troop website. Maintains Troop Photo online site. Brian Tyler Paul Boyle (trainer) Troop Summer Camp Pitch-In Organizes Thursday evening Summer Camp Parent Pitch-In. Signs up parents, promotes, and coordinates with troop leadership. Request Money-Making Application approval through Troop Secretary. BSA Popcorn Sales Coordinates BSA popcorn sales as a troop fundraiser Mike Hahn Searching for new coordinator desire to split into event coordinator & bookkeeper Split into event coordinator & bookkeeper Ashley Swingle Fall Festival Plans and coordinates with the troop the St Bartholomew Fall Festival. Provides security detail as requested. Bob Massengale Verifying K of C Bingo Coordinates sign-up of Scouts for Friday night Bingo. Call scout each week prior to their Friday. Bryan Brunner Pancake Breakfast Plans and coordinates donations, sign-ups, etc. for Sunday breakfasts at St Bartholomew parish hall. Events in Nov, Jan and Mar. Sandy Allman Scott Allman Fundraising Dinner Plans and coordinates donations, sign-ups, etc. for Saturday dinner at St. Bartholomew. One event per year, timing TBD. Confirm we want to continue- Committee Meeting Discussion Christmas Wreath Coordinates and plans Christmas Wreath Sales event for troop. Make bows for the wreaths from bulk ribbon for the wreaths.
