Decorations are featured throughout the interior plus in the outdoor cook house and exteriors of additional buildings. November 9 December 30 Remarkable Women of the 19th Century at Bulloch Hall 180 Bulloch Avenue (closed Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day) Mon. Sat. 10:00 a.m. 4:00 p.m. Sunday 1:00 p.m. 4:00 p.m. or Christmas at Bulloch Hall celebrates famous women of the 19th century. Women like Queen Victoria, Louisa May Alcott, Mary Todd Lincoln, Harriet Tubman and others will be represented through the hall. Tours during the holidays are self-guided. November 10 - December 30 Toys for Tots at Barrington Hall Barrington Hall 535 Barrington Drive Tours: Mon. Sat. on the hour from 10:00 a.m. 3:00 p.m. (last tour begins at 3) Sunday 1:00 p.m. 3:00 p.m. (last tour begins at 3) Barrington Hall will feature an exhibit of antique toys sure to bring out the child in everyone. They will also host a toy collection for children in need through Toys for Tots, a nationwide program sponsored by the U.S. Marine Corp. Toys may be placed in the collection box at Barrington Hall s gift shop as you visit the magnificent home. (Last day to donate is December 18). 1

Roswell Woman s Club presents a holiday home tour featuring five homes in the Historic District of Roswell. There will be a mixture of both historic and new homes on the tour. Local area designers decorate the homes with beautiful décor including seasonal decorations. 5 December 2 Back to Nature Holiday Market at Chattahoochee Nature Center 9135 Willeo Road Begins at noon; Free ext. 236 Attend the Holiday Market with over 40 local vendors selling unique handmade and/or eco-friendly goods. The free event is Chattahoochee Nature Center s gift to the community. December 2 Gingerbread Christmas at Smith Plantation Home 935 Alpharetta Street 10 a.m. 3 p.m. with workshops beginning at 10:30 a.m.; 11:30 a.m.; 1:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. $5 per child; reservations required; Limit of 10 children per workshop Call to make reservations. Get in the spirit of the season with Gingerbread Christmas. Each workshop is presented by Clarissa Clifton and features preparing and decorating gingerbread cookies for baking over the open hearth in the historic 1863 cookhouse. Children will also have the opportunity to make a holiday craft ornament. December 2 Roswell s Annual Holiday Celebration on the Square (intersection of Hwy. 9 and Hwy. 120) 5:00 p.m. Free; This family event includes carolers from local schools, lighting of Town Square, a reading of Twas the Night Before Christmas by the Mayor, and a special visit from Santa Claus! Pictures with Santa are available. Holiday shuttle buses are available to Santa s Secret Gift Shop. December 2 & 3 Santa s Secret Gift Shop Roswell Adult Recreation Center 830 Grimes Bridge Road Dec. 2: 6:00 p.m. 8:30 p.m. Dec. 3: 1:00 p.m. 4:00 p.m. The shop opens immediately after the lighting of Town Square! Take the holiday shuttle bus to the Adult Recreation Center. Children ages 12 and younger will enjoy shopping for relatives, making arts & crafts, and face painting. On Saturday you can park at the Adult Recreation Center and ride the holiday bus for FREE to the lighting of the Square. The shuttle starts at 4 p.m. Pictures with Santa are available on Sunday from 1 p.m. 4 p.m. at the Adult Recreation Center (no shuttle on Sunday). Gifts are priced affordably, and proceeds benefit the Roswell Ramblers senior club. Concessions available for purchase. December 3 Caroling on Canton Mayor s Corner, along Canton Street 5:00 p.m.- 7:00 p.m Residents and visitors are invited to stroll up and down Canton Street from 5:00-7:00 p.m., listening to their favorite holiday tunes while sipping hot chocolate, warming up by the community bonfire, and enjoying the seasonal celebrations of local merchants. Register online at (Program #21605) For information call In 1923, Margaret Mitchell interviewed Eva Baker about her memories of the 1853 wedding of Mittie Bulloch and Theodore Roosevelt (Sr.) The performance of The Bridesmaid of Barrington Hall is a dramatic recreation of that historic interview. Local actress Holly Stevenson portrays Margaret Mitchell, Eva Baker and President Theodore Roosevelt. 3

December 5, 7, 12, 14 Christmas High Tea at Bulloch Hall 180 Bulloch Avenue 4:00 p.m. 6:00 p.m. $50 per person Reservations required by calling ext. 2 Relax and enjoy a delicious two-course tea served by ladies in period clothing. The tea includes a tour of Bulloch Hall decorated for Christmas. This popular holiday tradition sells out fast so remember to place your reservations early. December 9 Christmas for Kids Bulloch Hall 180 Bulloch Avenue 10:00 a.m. Noon $15 per person Reservations required at An exciting holiday event for children 4-10 years of age. Activities include candy cane hunt, crafts, refreshments, a visit from Snow Queen and Winter Princesses, Mr. & Mrs. Claus and a tour of Bulloch Hall decorated for Christmas. December 9 Adaptive Friendship Group Waller Park Recreation Center 250 Oak Street 10:00 a.m. 2:00 p.m This program is designed for school aged children with disabilities. Enjoy the day participating in fun activities and working on social skills. Supervised by certified special education teachers. December 9 Candy Cane Hunt East Roswell Park Recreation Center 9000 Fouts Road 6:00 p.m. 7:30 p.m. Fees: $12 Roswell residents; $18 non-resident; All Ages Registration required for parents and children; Registration not accepted day of event. (Program # ) Pizza dinner followed by a hunt for all types of candy canes. Keep a lookout for a couple of giant candy canes to redeem for prizes. December 9 Candy Cane Fun Run East Roswell Park 9000 Fouts Road 5:00 p.m.; Various Price options Registration required Runners, walkers, and even skippers are invited for a jolly good time! Dress in your ugly holiday sweater or other festive attire. Fun Run starts at 5 p.m., prior to the Candy Cane Hunt, and is not a timed run. Course runs through East Roswell Park. Bring your camera and get your picture taken with Santa at the end of the race. Runners receive a holiday race medal. Barrington Hall, 535 Barrington Drive Caroling sing-a-long at the piano, hot chocolate and cookies, angel dress-up photos and ornament crafts in the barn Bulloch Hall, 180 Bulloch Avenue Unique decorations, roasted marshmallows in the outdoor fireplace, mulled cider, cookies, and a candy cane ornament craft. December 10 Reindeer Day at Chattahoochee Nature Center 9135 Willeo Road Event begins at Noon Included with general admission and FREE to CNC members ext. 238 Live reindeer join the other animals at Chattahoochee Nature Center to help you get in the holiday spirit. Reindeer Day is a favorite annual tradition. December 10 Tea with Santa The Gilbert House 38 Sloan Street 3:00 p.m. 5:00 p.m. $20 per adult; $10 per child Annual Holiday Tea Party at The Gilbert House includes crafts, lite nibbles and a hot tea, coffee and hot cocoa bar. All ages are welcome, youth ages 18 and under must be accompanied by an adult. December 15 Pajama Party with Santa East Roswell Park Recreation Center 9000 Fouts Road 6:30 p.m. 10:30 p.m. Fees: $38 Roswell residents; $57 non-residents; All Ages Registration Required (Program # ) Drop your children off for a pajama party with Santa while you take the night off! Children may dress in their holiday PJs and will enjoy snacks, a craft and watch Polar Express on the big screen. Santa will be attending to help entertain and chaperone for part of the evening. 5

Each reenactment lasts 1 hour and 10 minutes.) Admission: $15 adults; $10 children Reservations required at The 1853 wedding of Mittie Bulloch to Theodore Roosevelt was the most famous wedding in the 19th century village of Roswell. Participate in this living history event as a guest at the wedding. Walk from room to room to hear the ladies discussing fashions of the day while across the hall men are talking about 1853 politics. Experience the wedding as a spirit of romance is created through drama and historical accuracy. Wreaths Across America December 16 & 18 Cookies with Mrs. Claus Barrington Hall 535 Barrington Drive 10:00 a.m. Noon (two sessions per day) $10 per person Reservations required Join Mrs Claus in Barrington Hall s barn activity room for this special children s holiday event. Children begin by writing letters to Santa while Mrs. Claus shares holiday stories. With assistance from Mrs. Claus and her helpers, the children decorate the cookies with seasonal icings and sugars. We will finish the event with a visit from a very special postman who will gather those Santa letters. This modern-day holiday classic is sure to make every young performer embrace his or her inner elf with plenty of ensemble numbers featuring elves and New Yorkers of every type. December 21, 22, 23 Twas The Night Before Christmas by Piccadilly Puppets Roswell Cultural Arts Center 950 Forrest Street Dec 21 & 23: 10:00 a.m. Dec 22: 10:00 a.m. & 1:30 p.m. Tickets: $5 ages 2 and over Based on the classic holiday poem penned by Clement C. Moore, the production tells the real story of that night from a mouse who was an eyewitness to the whole affair. 13 HOUSES OF WORSHIP November 8 Presbyterian Women Prayer & Thank Offering Service Roswell Presbyterian Church - Historic Sanctuary 10:30 a.m. or Thank offering gifts will be collected at the service to benefit many worthwhile domestic and international projects identified by Presbyterian Women. Childcare available with a reservation. Contact the church office. Free and open to the public. Communion will be celebrated. December 10 Chanukah Palooza Temple Kehillat Chaim Social Hall 1145 Green Street 12:30 p.m. $ This annual fundraiser for the Mitzner Family Religious School begins with a Chanukah sing-a-long, followed by lunch, a raffle, games, vendors and crafts. Don t miss this afternoon of fun. The $5 ticket includes lunch, games and crafts. Children under 3 eat for free. December 3 The Greening of the Sanctuary First Baptist Roswell - Sanctuary 710 Mimosa Blvd. 6:30 p.m The annual greening service is when the sanctuary is decorated for the Christmas holidays and includes the Procession of the Poinsettias. A narrative is shared explaining the meaning of the wreaths, garlands, and the flowers. Over a hundred Poinsettias are brought in by FBR s Young Musicians and Youth Choir members. The finale is the combined choirs presentation of O Holy Night. A Christmas Sampler with lots of goodies will follow in the Seymour Activities Building. 11

The evening s music will also include instrumental specials performed by members from within the orchestra. The talented musicians bring the sounds of Christmas to life celebrating the season.
