2 Jennifer Fountain and Rocky Raider WELCOME RAIDERS! As you arrive we would like to be sure you are comfortable making this major transition to campus life. We will be connecting you with some of the opportunities, offices and people on campus that are here to support you and ensure you have an incredible college experience. We have planned a number of events for your opening weekend beginning with dinner on Thursday in The Hawk and the Opening Welcome in Raider Stadium. Additional activities include Playfair, educational sessions, SOU Football, interactions with staff and faculty, community dinners and socials, and opportunities to explore Ashland. You have joined a university that is student-focused and seeks to engage you in a valuable learning experience. Regardless of your educational goals, Southern Oregon University has real opportunities to help you be successful in a diverse and purposeful community. The first six weeks of fall term are very crucial to your success. During this time, we encourage you to participate in programs across campus and meet faculty and staff who are available to support and encourage you to reach your goals. We hope that you will take advantage of many of the activities available to you. Congratulations on the beginning of your journey at SOU. Welcome to a university community that cherishes intellectual growth, is dedicated to student success, and links the spirit of inquiry to engagement with life in society.
