2 Dec. 18, 2018 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Major League Baseball issued the following statement following this morning s Indian River County Board of Commissioner s meeting. The Commissioners approved the Facility Lease Agreement between the County and Major League Baseball. Tony Reagins, Executive Vice President of Baseball & Softball Development, Major League Baseball, said: We thank the Indian River County Board of County Commissioners for passing the Facility Lease Agreement that will allow us to move forward with our plans to operate and build upon the great legacy of Historic Dodgertown. We also thank Peter O Malley for maintaining Historic Dodgertown over these past years, especially as hosts of a variety of our development-based events like the Girls Baseball and Softball Breakthrough Series and the Elite Development Invitational. Strengthening the youth and amateur levels of our sport continues to be a central goal of Major League Baseball. The future of Historic Dodgertown is a key component of our overall strategy, particularly as we look to bridge this location s special history to the future of our game. Additional details will be announced at a later date, but our expectations remain high as we look to provide opportunities and experiences for youth and amateur players that they will never forget.

Hiram's 2nd Thursday of each month: Sebastian Area Women in Business meets at 8am at Captain Hiram's. Breakfast is available for purchase. All business women are welcome to join us. Meet other women in business and enjoy interesting presentations and lively conversations! The Rotary Club of Sebastian meets every Thursday at 12:15 p.m. at Capt n Butchers. The 1st Thursday is our business meeting and the rest of the months meetings have speakers. Guest are welcome to see what Rotary is all about and listen to a speaker.
