3 Gen. Robert E. Lee Birthday On January 23, members of Camp 911 and Gen. Edmond W. Rucker Chapter joined compatriots at the Alabama Department of Archives and History for a celebration of the birthday of Gen. Robert E. Lee. We enjoyed Confederate music by the Un-Reconstructed String Band, and a special program by General Robert E. Lee himself. Camp 911 Color Guard serves as the Division Color Guard General Lee Chapter Social Meeting Gen. Edmond W. Rucker 2534 has added the in between our regular meetings social gathering as a regular monthly event. We meet at Moms Family Restaurant on the Ozark Highway in Enterprise at 5:00 pm on the last Thursday of each month. All members and prospective members are invited to attend. If you cant make it by 5:00, come when you can. This is a casual meeting. We order off the restaurant menu, or just have a cup of coffee. Those of us who have attended over the last few months have enjoyed a chance to get to know each other better. Come join us on February 25 th!

6 Spring Muster Confederate Flag Day Confederate Veterans Memorial Park U.S. Hwy 331 Crenshaw County Alabama March 5, 2016 at 12:00 P.M. until The 56 Foot flag pole and park is on the east side of the Four lane U.S. Hwy 331, 3 miles north of Brantley, Alabama or 6 miles South of Luverne, Alabama next to the Dry Creek RV Park and can be seen for about a mile in both directions. This Muster is for any SCV or UDC Member throughout the State and South and we are also asking everyone interest in their Southern Heritage to come and assist with the Muster and Confederate Flag Day. Come in uniform, period dress or any way you can. The colors will be posted at 12:00 followed by a cannon and rifle salute. Although plans are incomplete at this time, in the afternoon there will be a program on Confederate flags. We need everyone to bring their Confederate flags and we hope to be able to post them in great numbers along US Hwy 331 for everyone that passes to see them. This is a major travel route to and from the Beach and will be seen by thousands. This park is not just for Camp #396 and the Southeast Brigade but for the whole Alabama Division Sons of Confederate Veterans. We hope by placing and dedicating this as Confederate Veterans Memorial park, other Camps will see what can be done and will try to have parks in all parts of our great state of Alabama. This park already has a Confederate Monument and 4 20 flag poles for the Bonnie Blue, First National, Second National, Third National, Flags, power, water, picnic tables, cannon, covered bulletin board, chain link fence and will allow other CSA monuments to be placed in it. There will be plenty of parking in the RV park and place for tables and tents to be set up. We need all the assistance we can get with donations to finish this park, there isnt another like it. Donations are not required but if you cannot attend and would like to contribute to help finish the park, donations may be sent to David Coggins 434 E. 10 th St., Luverne, Alabama or Joe Clark 1556 Seminole Cir., Elba, Alabama Every dollar will help. 7 From the Confederate Veteran September/October 2015: The SCV will be celebrating the upcoming Confederate Flag Day, which is in the SCV Standing Orders as March 4. Each member is encouraged to fly a Confederate Flag on March 4, The logic behind this date is that March 4, 1861 is when First National Flag (Stars and Bars) was hoisted over the Confederate Capitol in Montgomery, Alabama Confederate Veteran and on March 4, 1865 President Jefferson Davis signed a bill into law creating the Third National Flag. On Saturday, March 5, 2016 every Division and every camp without a Division will sponsor a Flag Day observance somewhere within their state. Past Commander-in-Chief Chuck McMichael has agreed to be the national coordinator of this occurrence and will be sending out a format for all Divisions and camps without Divisions to follow. Once times and locations are determined, PCIC McMichael will make them public so members are aware of the particulars. Be sure to mark your calendar now so you and your family can attend.
