1 SECTION DEFINITIONS Job Classification Number (JCN) The job classification number identifies the job title for personnel accounting purposes. Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) Under this heading is the designation of the classification under the Fair Labor Standards Act. The following are the FLSA designations for all classifications: A - Administration E - Executive P - Professional L - Elective N - Non-Exempt * Employees are exempt from FLSA and are not eligible for any overtime compensation as specified in Salary Resolution Section These employees are eligible for Administrative Time Off. Title: Alphabetical Position Listing Under this heading is the designated title of the classification of the officer or employee. Band/Range The heading "Band/Range" specifies the appropriate biweekly salary range, unless otherwise noted, for step one (1) appointments and succeeding steps for the classification as detailed in the Salary Range Steps table. Monthly Equivalent Under this heading is the beginning and top monthly salary for the classification, unless otherwise noted. Classification eligible for Step 8 Classification eligible for Step 9 Footnotes Under this heading are special provisions found in Section Footnotes which apply to the classification. Probationary Period ( PERD) Under this heading is the number of months for the probationary period of incumbents, pursuant to Personnel Rule 5 - Probationary Periods. Unit Under this heading is the number of the certified bargaining unit for the represented classifications. Unrepresented classifications are designated as "UNR", management classifications are designated as "SMG" or "MGT", department heads are designated as "HDS", elected officials are designated as "ELC" and classifications that are exclusively utilized as extra-help are designated as "98".
