1 OPERATIONS ORDER Jan 2011 EXERCISE: INDEFATIGABLE SITUATION Calgary Highlanders RCACC will participate in FTX Indefatigable, winter indoctrination training, to be conducted at Kananaskis Campgrounds Lower Lake Group Camp from February This exercise is a mandatory training activity. MISSION 2. To continue to build winter bushcraft and fieldcrat skills for all cadets. EXECUTION 3. General outline: The operation is a two-day FTX. Cadets will participate on a section or Platoon level basis for most activities. a. This exercise will be completed in 4 phases: (1) Phase 1: (a) 10 Feb OGroup FTX (b) 10 Feb kit check for Cpls & below, 3 rd period (2) Phase 2: (a) 11 Feb Load section and personal equipment (b) Move to exercise area (c) Unload section and personal equipment (d) Set up biv site (e) FTX conference at hrs: Staff, CSM att mandatory (3) Phase 3: (a) 12 Feb Conduct training IAW Annex A (4) Phase 4: (a) 13 Feb Tear down bivouac area (b) Load section and personal equipment (c) Move to Mewata Armouries (d) Unload, clean, return stores (e) Debrief (f) 1530 Hrs Dismissed 4. First line: Indiv F/A and must be brought to the attention of the Medical Officer. b. Cas Evacuation: Hospital to be used for cas evac via safety vehicle (telephone 911). Hospitals located in Canmore and Calgary (Children s Hospital and Foothills Hospital). Emergency contacts will be notified. c. RV location to be assigned upon arrival. All other aspects of plan as per SOP and as per safety briefing on FTX. 7. Section Stores a. Att at Annex B 8. Feeding a. All meals will be IMPs. Any accidental damage will be immediately reported to Staff through chain of comd. c. Environmental Study is not required as it was previously completed by another cadet corps. Due diligence as per CF environmental policy will be observed on private lands. 13. POL a. All POL will be located in a designated area. Naphtha cans and any Coleman stove tanks and lanterns containing naphtha will be secured in the POL Storage Point when not in use. WORDS OF ADVICE: Please note that the items listed may need to be adjusted depending on the type and length of exercise we are doing, as well as what the weather will be like. Please check the weekend forecast and adjust your kit accordingly. You must bring all REQUIRED items as listed.
