3 Schlarship Applicatin Instructins The DCC Student Schlarship Prgram draws tgether endwed schlarships and dnatins int a single schlarship applicatin frm. Eligibility First Year Students If yu have nt previusly enrlled as a degree seeking cllege student, yu must meet the fllwing minimum requirements: Apply fr Admissin t DCC High Schl cumulative GPA 2.25 Transfer Students Transfer students must meet the fllwing requirements: Apply fr Admissin t DCC Cmpletin f 12 r mre graded cllege credits A minimum cumulative cllege GPA f 2.25 Currently enrlled and frmer DCC students must meet the fllwing requirements: Previusly been admitted t DCC as degree seeking. Enrllment (r plans t d s) in a degree r certificate prgram. Cmpletin f 12 r mre graded cllege credits. A minimum f 2.0 GPA. Dual Enrllment students with DCC must have 12 r mre credits t be cnsidered a Current/Returning student. Schlarship Awards Schlarships are awarded n a yearly basis, (unless nted as renewable) but ne can reapply each year. The awards are dispersed in tw equal segments, ne fr each semester. Schlarships are shwn n yur Cllege bill and reduce yur institutinal expenses first. Any amunts ver thse institutinal expenses may be used t meet living expenses. Yu must enrll fr at least 12 credits and maintain the required GPA fr yur award if it is a renewable schlarship. The FAFSA must be cmpleted by March 1 st fr schlarships that are need based. Recipients will be ntified by U.S. Mail in April. Applicatins can be submitted by mail, , faxed r drpped ff in persn. Applicatin Checklist Please submit the fllwing : 1. The cmplete schlarship applicatin frm (pages 3-4) in this packet (typewritten r legibly printed). 2. Wrk, Hnrs and Activities Resume. 3. Transcripts. First Year Student Transcript f high schl wrk which shuld include yur cumulative GPA and a rank in class thrugh the 7 th semester. The transcript des nt need t be fficial, but it is subject t verificatin. If yur schl will nt release a transcript t yu, request that they send ne t the Financial Aid Office, and include a separate sheet in yur applicatin envelpe infrming us f yur request and the date yu made it. Transfer & Returning students Transcript f all cllege-level wrk cmpleted. The transcript need nt be fficial, but may be subject t verificatin. 4. Tw (2) current letters f recmmendatin frm nn-family members. If applying fr a music schlarship please have ne f the letters be frm a current instructr in that area. 5. Schlarship specific requirements (ie: art pieces, slides, musical tapes, DD214). 6. A ne-page, duble-spaced, size 10 fnt, persnal essay First Year & Transfer expressing yur interest in DCC. Returning essay addressing the fllwing tpic: Describe hw yu have demnstrated leadership in yur schl, wrk r cmmunity r discuss a special attribute r accmplishment that sets yu apart.
