1 IEEE WIECON ECE 2016 Name of Chapter/Section: WIE Affinity group of IEEE Pune and WIE Affinity Bangladesh Section. Name of contact person: Rajashree Jain, Pune WIE AG Chair 16 SICR, India. Name of event: IEEE WIECON-ECE IEEE International Women in Engineering Conference on Electrical and Computer Engineering Date of event: December, Objective of the event: Innovative research to build and Lead the Smart World. Conference aim was to bring together individual conducting research and professional activities in the area of ECE (Electrical and Computer Engineering), with a view to encourage participation of Women scholars. IEEE WIECON ECE 2016 The inception of the WIECON-2016 started with beginning of the year. The International advisory committee of WIECON included 17 members from all over the world. Technical committee and organizing committee included Chair persons from IEEE Pune and IEEE Bangladesh section. Total 283 papers were received for WIECON-2K16. In the phase-1 review process 80 papers were rejected whose similarity index was greater than 40%. Phase-II of review process was divided in 3 levels where in first level, 604 reviewers reviewed the papers. Each paper was reviewed by 4 reviewers. In second level co-chairs reviewed papers & in third level track chair took the final decision on paper selection. Total 80 papers were accepted out of which 26 papers were from out of India. Final Acceptance ratio was 28%. In WIECON-2016, 15 technical topics were clubbed in 9 different technical tracks and 65 participants had registered and presented their papers. Ms. A. Supriya Reddy and Mr. A. D. Sharma received best paper award on paper title Effect of latitude and longitude on boundary sigma at low latitude stations for GBAS applications. This paper was under Antenna and wireless communication track. In each track best paper was selected and 9 authors were awarded.

INAUGRATION CEREMONY The inauguration ceremony of IEEE WIECON was held on 19 th December 2016 in All India Shri Shivaji Memorial Society s Institute of Information Technology (AISSMS s IOIT). Technical Program Committee Chair Dr. Rajeshree Jain Associate professor SICSR, India & WIE AG Chair, Chief Guest Dr. Bozenna Pasik- Duncan Fellow IEEE, Professor University of Kansas, USA & IEEE WIE Chair & Organising Chair Dr. Surekha Deshmukh PVG s COET & Secretary IEEE Pune Section were present. Dr. Celia Shahnaz General Chair, the founder and current Chair Affinity Group, IEEE Bangladesh Section with Gerneral Chair Dr. Rajesh Ingle welcomed all participants from India and overseas and shared her experiencing of organizing IEEE WIECON 2016 in AISSMS IOIT and thanked Dr. P. B.Mane for taking initiative to organize the conference. They also appreciated Dr. Bozenna Pasik-Duncan for moral support and stated that she was the crusader of maintaining commitments at global level. She also expressed her gratitude towards Dr. Linawati from Indoneasia, Dr. Noorliza Mohd Noor & Dr. Zehn from Malyasia.

Tutorials Two parallel tutorials were organized under WIECON for knowledge sharing on recent trends and technologies.

Patil and MadhuKamble, DhirubhaiAmbani Institute of Information and Communication Technology (DA-IICT), Gandhinagar, India and for topic of Recent Research Trends, Advances and Applications of Image Processing was conducted by Manesh Kokare Associate Prof & Dean R&D at SGGIE&T, Nanded, INDIA. The first talk was delivered by Former head of ICT & Director of GDLN, Dept of ECE, Udayana University, Bali, Indonesia on topic of Smart City: Project and Challenges in Denpasar City. A special talk on Humanitarian Activity by Chong Yu Zheng who is a Senior Member of IEEE and a Lecturer at Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman, Malaysia on title on Interactive telehabilitation devices for children with movement disorders was delivered. Dr. Shaikh Anowarul Fattah Professor, Dept. of EEE, BUET, Bangladesh Chair, IEEE Bangladesh Section delivered a talk on the topic of Map integrated surveillance-cum-rescue system for humanitarian applications.

Mr. Sudeendra Koushik Vice Chair, IEEE Bangalore Section delivered a talk on title: Industrial Innovation and Entrepreneurship.
