Joint Project to Promote Professional Awareness in R10 Events and Professional Activities in TENCON2016 (Singapore). 3 R10 Student Best Paper Competition and R10 Student Best Paper Award in IEEE ICSPCC2016 (Hong Kong, August 5-8, 2016).

5 R10 Industry Relations Coordination (IRC) Committee Issues 1. Need Industry relations chair in each section. 2. There are limited Industry / professionals oriented programs and we need to plan at least one event every section. Tools 1. Need sections to identify Industry members using SAM IEEE. Challenges 1. Engaging Industry needs across various experience groups YP : Need more engagement with Startups Senior members : Platform for showcasing their experiences. Opportunities chapter TEMS - Technology and Engineering Management Society (TEMS)is formed globally to engage leaders across industry and academia. we need to form chapters across sections for TEMS so that this becomes a forum for industry engagement.

8 ECIM Committee Issues 1. Websites are as good as the information being presented. R10 Execom and Sections have to report events / announcements periodically. 2. Social media interaction - R10 sections and members alike have to link their social media plans with R10 so that all members in the region get updates on Facebook or Twitter. For e.g. an initiative in NZ, should they tweet about it, should / #ieeer10 so that all members following ieeer10 would get an update Tools 1. Sections should provide R10 ECM team with the links to their website to link all together under one umbrella. For items 2-5, sections should actively participate and contribute in terms of sharing events and articles to make newsletter and website relevant. 2. R10 app 3. R10 website 4. R10 social media assets 5. FuildReview for awards process Challenges 1. Members to contribute to information sharing via social media and website Opportunities 1. IEEE R10 website and app one stop shop to know all happenings in the region. 2. Streamlining awards process similar to MGA - use to FluidReview tool 3. Actively promote Collabratec adoption 4. Members to start blogging about their events, views on technology, opinions etc. to engage members 5. Showcase R10 member achievements in terms of patents, Startups@ieeer10 etc. Linking back to YP and Industry relations. 6. Twitter Chats: #AskIEEER10

13 Educational Activities (EA) Committee 1. Issues - Appointment of section EA chairs - Training of section EA chairs - Awareness of EAB activities - TISP, EPICS, ECFD, EAB awards, and others 2. Tools - via IEEE EAB/R10 EA website/social media (Facebook) - via IEEE elearning Library - via R10 EA coordinators - R10 EA programs to engage the sections - IEEE MOOC with edx (eg. Society/ Skillconnect ) 3. Challenges - lack of volunteer time and resource - lack of strong available leaders to inspire education engagement 4. Opportunities - Take advantage of IEEE EAB program to engage members - Appoint section EA chairs to work with members to create awareness of education program - Engage local education associations, work with them to create a stronger EA local environment

Enhance Quality of Nominations: by interacting with sections. Streamline all R10 awards and Explore potentials for new awards. R10 Awards: Outstanding Section Awards (in all 3 categories) Outstanding Volunteers Award. Outstanding Industry-Academia Collaboration Award Affinity Group / Activity Committee awards (WIE, SA, HTC, LM, YP, EA) Promote Nominations from R10 for IEEE Medals, TFAs, and other awards

INVOLVE SECTIONS IEEE GOLDEN DAYS : 50 events planned across sections, student branches and chapters, 10 events supported by R10 History data published in the website: 25 sections with a special newsletter edition 2. CELEBRATE GOLDEN DAYS R10 Celebration on 24 th Aug at Bangalore with SYWL Congress ( Aug 2016) and WIE Global Summit 3. ENGAGE MEMBERS Engage members across R Selfies/ groupies 500 tweets 50 blogs 50 videos fellow and Life members letters Sections requested to be part of the celebration and involve in all activities 20 3/14/2016

21 2016 IEEE Region 10 Ad Hoc Committee on Entreprenurship, Innovation and Internships Objectives Entrepreneurship, Innovation and Internships when progressed in unison will bridge the gaps between industry and academia, and enhance the standards of young professionals and students, and facilitate productive engagements in their career Entrepreneurship Create the Entrepreneurship Community, Model and Ecosystem Impart necessary training to members on knowhow of successful entrepreneurship, ideation and robust marketing tactics through practical, experimental and practical learning Innovation Sustainable Approach to develop creativity with business insights Work with technology companies, reputed Universities, Private and Government Entities Organize Workshops on Design Thinking, IOT, Smart City and other emerging technology Internship and Skill Development Attract and engage Students & YPs through Internship, Skill Development and Leadership Training Programs across R10 Effectively match Internship-seekers with curriculum project work to strengthen realization of aspirations and strengthen learning process Highlights Outcome-driven, Measurement-based revolutionary ideas that will transform and positively impact R10 Integrates Entrepreneurship, Innovation and Internships to emphasize Uniqueness of this initiative and ensure Replicability across R10 with appropriate customization to local environment Leverages the Volunteer philosophy of IEEE and build Close Engagement with Volunteers and Staff across Sections, Councils, Subsections, Chapters, Affinity Groups to ensure Sustainability of Operations Emphasis on Collaboration with Universities, Industry, Venture Capitalists to make them Self- Sustaining and minimizes dependence on R10 Budget R10 Will support as per the matching funds policy i.e section 50% 2 pilot programs under each subcommittee to be hosted in 2016
