Cheryl Gleason Stevenson Auction Collects donations and makes baskets to use for our school auction held in conjunction with Spring Carnival. Maria Pica Trish Braun Birthday Books Purchases and distributes a book for each student during their birthday month. Margaret Bilos Cultural Arts Organizes 2-3 programs/shows a year with the principal. Maria Pica Directory Organizes and distributes a Directory of all current PTA members. Risse Yamaguchi Fun Fair (Spring Carnival) Forms a committee to plan and run our spring carnival. Maria Pica Treat Day Plans a once a month treat for students. Effie Cirbo Kathy Potocnic Trunk or Treat Forms a committee to run our fall event outside in the parking lot of Stevenson. Effie Cirbo Holiday Gift Shop Coordinates with a company to come in and sell holiday gifts to the students at low prices. Eva Peterhansen Hospitality (Drop off Donuts) Orders and sets up our back to school event. Lorie Simon Hot Lunch Organizes the sale of hot lunches for all students from local businesses once a week (Tuesdays) Lori Filby Linda Weishaar
5 Manna Organizes the sale and distribution of gift cards. Lorie Simon Membership Encourages parents, staff and community members to join the Stevenson PTA. Risse Yamaguchi PTA Recognition Complies a list of Stevenson staff, parents or community members to be recognized by the PTA. Lori Filby Room Representatives Coordinates a parent for each classroom to run each party. Maria Pica Kathy Potocnic Scholarship School Pictures Coordinates with the District and STC to supply, distribute, collect, and review, and return applications for various scholarships offered by the district and STC. Organizes the annual school-wide picture day in the beginning of the school year. Helps the school with their picture day at the end of the year. Lori Filby Effie Cirbo Spirit Wear Works with a vendor to sell Stevenson clothes to staff and families. Kathy Potocnic Teacher/Staff Appreciation Organizes Teacher Appreciation week including the luncheon. Lorie Simon Volunteer Coordinator Helps gather anyone willing to volunteer their time at an event. Maria Pica Webmaster Uploads all forms and files to our webpage. Nancy Mueller Lori Filby Yearbook Collects pictures and order forms for the annual yearbook. Works with a staff member to put yearbook together. Christine Kelley Pizza Friday Organizes the sale of pizza every other Friday for students. Trish Braun

9 SCHAUMBURG TOWNSHIP COUNCIL OF PTAs 2017 ELEMENTARY SUMMER SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION As part of its commitment to life-long learning, the Schaumburg Township Council of PTAs (STC) offers scholarships for summer programs/camps to District 54 students currently in Kindergarten through 7 th grade who wish to broaden their education, talents and experiences. A full and complete application must include all the following: Completed Identification & Verification Form Student Statement (consisting of one (1), two-part question with a maximum of 300 words) on the STC application form provided. Statement must fit on the front only of the page either typewritten, computer generated or neatly handwritten with text able to be clearly copied. Please only use I/he/she when completing statement. Do not identify the child or have child sign statement. A copy of the summer camp/program brochure with description (including cost information). Do not send entire catalog/website information. A copy of the completed application/registration form (no exceptions) A copy (not the original) of the parent/guardian PTA/PTSA membership card for the academic year, or written verification of PTA/PTSA membership from local unit membership chair or local unit president. (Parent/Guardian must be a PTA member at the school attended by the child applying for the scholarship. Must be a PTA member by March 1, 2017). Please note that any application not meeting all the criteria will be disqualified. No materials will be returned. Please do not staple/tape/paperclip anything together. Scholarships will be awarded for the full cost of the summer program/camp up to $125. All scholarship checks will be forwarded directly to the summer program/camp. *One application per student *No household will be awarded more than one (1) scholarship each year *No student will be awarded a scholarship for more than two (2) consecutive years. The summer program or camp must start on or after June 1, 2017 and be completed by September 1, To comply with the Bylaws of PTA, to be noncommercial, nonsectarian, and nonpartisan, a camp with the purpose of religious instruction will be ineligible for a scholarship. Please return a completed application in a sealed envelope to your schools office marked Elementary Scholarship. The deadline for submitting an application is Monday, April 3, All candidates will be notified of committee decisions by the 2 nd week in May Scholarship recipients are encouraged to notify STC describing the benefits of having attended the camp/program for which the scholarship is received. Please note that this program is not the same, nor is it affiliated with the Schaumburg Township Elementary School Foundation Memorial Scholarship Grant program. (Ex: Schaumburg Park District, Harper College, also please note- Boy Scout camp checks should be made out to Northwest Suburban Council (NWSC or to the individual Troop ie Boy Scout Troop 196 this will help speed up the process of payment to the camp and avoid unnecessary delays. The amount approved by the STC Elementary Scholarship Committee will be paid to the summer camp/program that was submitted on application.
