Upon successful completion of this course, you will earn the 90 hours of Introduction to Health Care and 75 hours of Nursing Assistant. If you choose to pursue Phlebotomy (75 hours) or Home Health Aide (75 hours) next, you will not need to repeat the 90-hour Introduction to Health Care portion of the program. To register, call Emergency Vehicle Operators Course - $130 Highlands Public Safety Building TBA This 16-hour course instructs participants on how to properly operate an emergency vehicle, specifically an ambulance. This training meets or exceeds the State of Florida (FAC 64J-1.013) requirements for operation of an emergency vehicle. This course includes both classroom and practical application activities. Successful completion requires passing a written and practical driving examination. Participants must have a valid State of Florida drivers license and be at least 18 years old to participate. Emergency Medical Technician Refresher - $125 This 30-hour course meets or exceeds the State of Florida, FAC 64J requirements for renewal of the Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) certification. Instruction includes classroom and skills verification required by the 1994 US DOT EMT-Basic National Standard Curriculum. Upon completion of this course, the participant will receive a certificate of completion for verification of training. The program also provides information regarding workers rights, employer responsibilities, and how to file a complaint. Through this training, OSHA helps to ensure that workers are more knowledgeable about workplace hazards and their rights, and contribute to our nation s productivity.
