5 Security Officer Classes Mission Statement S.E.A.L. Security Solutions Training Academy is dedicated to providing high quality training for an affordable price. We provide more than the typical security training for both security officers and law enforcement. We go above the minimum required training by expanding upon the norm. We strive to offer comprehensive training for all our officers. S.E.A.L. Security Solutions offers the State standard Level II and Level III Security Officer classes. Our Level II/Level III class teaches you the required basics for State certification. S.E.A.L. Security Solutions instructors have real-world security and law enforcement experience. Our instructors are not just book-smart, they are street-smart with their own personal related work experiences. Our instructors relate actual in-the-field experience with the lesson plans to give the students a better understanding of the training. S.E.A.L. Security Solutions also offers additional training beyond that of the state minimum. Our Patrol Tactics, Conflict Resolution, Weapon Retention and Tactical/Felon Handcuffing courses are not simply re-structured versions of the State training. These courses expand beyond that state training and include several other practical variations, added real-world tactics and pertinent training. In addition, S.E.A.L. Security Solutions offers OC (Pepper) Spray, ASP Baton and Red Cross 1 st Aid/CPR/AED. These are NOT generic, shortened courses. These courses are the FULL, certified course curriculums by ASP Tactical and Red Cross. Don t be fooled by 2-3 hour generic versions. To meet the needs of most officers, S.E.A.L. Security Solutions offers two training options; the basic State Level II/Level III course alone (40 hours) or a complete package. Our Complete package has 90+ hours of training. Complete Package (82+ hours): TX PSB Lvl II & Lvl III 40 hours ASP Baton 8 hours OC Spray 4 hours Tactical/Felon Handcuffing 2 hours Weapon Retention 2 hours Conflict Resolution 2 hours Patrol Tactics 2 hours Report Writing 2 hours Ethics 2 hours Handgun for Security Officers 10 hours K9 Basic Handler (optional) 10 hours
6 Level II/III Security Officer S.E.A.L. Security Solutions offers the State standard Level II and Level III Security Officer classes. Our Level II/Level III class teaches you the required basics for State certification. S.E.A.L. Security Solutions instructors have real-world security and law enforcement experience. Our instructors are not just book-smart, they are street-smart with their own personal experiences. Our instructors relate actual in-the-field experience with the lesson plans to give the student a better understanding of the training. The TX PSB Level II/Level III course provides the State required training to apply for your Commissioned (Armed) Security Officer license. The course is completed over 4 days (10 hours each day). Course material includes: Penal code, Arrest Authority, Commission Rules, Field Notes/Report Writing, Crime Scene, Patrol Services, Cover/Concealment, Use of Force, Conflict Resolution, Defensive Tactics, Handcuffing, Firearms, and Firearm Qualification. Our Level II/Level III course includes your course materials (yours to keep), range fees and shotgun qualification (extra cost for most other schools). The only cost for you is your pistol ammunition. We supply your shotgun, shotgun ammunition and even loan you a handgun if needed. We highly recommend you use your own handgun so you will train in class with your own duty weapon. Always train with the weapon you will be using whenever possible. Tactical Baton First, THIS IS NOT A GENERIC EXPANDABLE BATON COURSE!! This is the factory certified ASP Tactical Baton course. Upon completing this course, you will be certified by ASP as a Tactical Baton user. You do not need to have or carry an ASP brand baton to attend this course. You do need to be certified to carry a baton while on duty as a Commissioned Security Officer. In the course you will learn: The tactical baton is designed as a defensive impact weapon. Provides techniques that work 90% of the time on 90% of subjects and retains the ability to disengage or escalate. The training incorporates drills which simulate the stress of street encounters. Provides the basic understanding of the conditions in which the baton may be used, justification for use and how to document these actions. The ASP Basic Certification Program is based on modern, court defensible standards for less lethal use of force. The ASP Tactical Baton program is designed to meet three standards of training: o The techniques work on the street, not just in the classroom. o The techniques are court defensible and are backed by the nation s most experienced use of force consultants. o The program is administratively feasible for use in today s litigious society. Weapon Retention Officers are responsible for properly carrying their handguns and equally responsible to maintain control of those handguns. This course teaches techniques of handgun retention. Instruction will include weapon retention theory and principles, retention/distraction techniques and practical exercises. Students will be taught techniques from both the gun-holstered and gun-drawn positions. Handgun for Security Officers The State required Level III course only covers limited basics in firearms. This course teaches students the skills essential for the safe, effective and responsible use of a pistol for self-defense. From a review of safe firearms handling and marksmanship (stance, grip, trigger control, sighting, follow through) to presentation from the holster and multiple shooting positions, this course contains the essential skills and techniques needed to help prevail in a deadly force situation.
7 Handcuffing (Felon/Tactical) The State required Level III training includes basic handcuffing only. This is the factory certified ASP Tactical Handcuffing course and will expand upon that State basic training and include further variations, techniques and applications. THIS IS NOT A GENERIC HANDCUFFING COURSE!! In this class you will learn: The operational use of the ASP Tactical Handcuffs Focus on: o Portation (Carrying) o Presentation (Drawing) o Handcuff application techniques ASP tactical restraints are designed as a temporary restraints Provides efficient restraint tactics for criminal justice personnel without long hours of training The tactics are quickly learned, easily practiced and readily maintained Provides techniques that work 90% of the time on 90% of subjects and retains the ability to disengage or escalate Works effectively for all law enforcement/security officers The training incorporates drills which simulate a wide variety of street encounters which require restraints Provides you with an understanding of the conditions in which restraints may be used, justification for use and how to document these actions 1 st Aid/CPR/AED This training meets OSHA Guidelines for First Aid Programs and combines lecture, interactive video demonstrations featuring emergency scenarios that are likely to occur in a variety of environments and hands-on training to teach participants lifesaving skills. First Aid: Participants learn to recognize and care for a variety of first aid emergencies, such as burns, cuts and scrapes, sudden illnesses, head, neck and back injuries, and heat and cold emergencies. CPR Adult: Participants learn how to perform CPR and care for breathing and cardiac emergencies in adults AED: Participants learn how to use automatic external defibrillators
8 OC (Pepper) Defensive Spray The OC Defense Spray class is designed to promote safe and effective use of law enforcement/security chemical defense sprays. The participant will learn when defense sprays are appropriate, tactics and techniques of application and proper means of handling and decontamination of those exposed. Additionally the participant will be aware of the probable medical implications associated with the use of defense sprays. This course is required to carry OC (Pepper) spray while on duty as a Commissioned Security officer. This class covers: History of law enforcement chemical weapons Composition of modern defense sprays Physiological effects of defense sprays Delivery systems Use of force issues Tactics of application Control tactics follow-up procedures Decontamination procedures Defense spray selection Practical exercises Patrol Tactics - Intermediate This course covers actual, in the field procedures and techniques that most officers will be using. The course will cover techniques on how to safely and efficient patrol on foot and in a vehicle. Subjects such as Fatal Funnel, night patrol techniques, flashlight discipline, observation skills, patrol patterns and personal interactions will be covered. Patrol Tactics - Advanced This course covers advanced tactics used in the field. Areas covered will include perimeter control, solo tactical movement, moving with a partner, building clearance and vehicle cover. The course is part lecture with most of the instruction being practical exercises. Conflict Resolution This course teaches officers how to handle conflicts in a courteous, professional manner. The course will cover Communication, Behavior Signs, Redirecting Negative Behavior and De-escalation Techniques. The course utilizes realworld, in the field techniques not simply book theory. Students will learn 1 st person vs. 3 rd person narratives, sentence/report structure, proper grammar, report formatting and review sample reports.
