Membership (Kirsten Hanrahan) Kirsten Hanrahan, Committee Chair Committee: Greg Titus, Courtney Huston Total members as of March = 119, April 18, 2017: 121 Membership trend: Members Year Types of members: N Membership Type 33 Active- Active members have the privilege of voting, holding office and serving on committees and shall be one of the following: 1)Pediatric Nurse Practitioners (PNP/APRN), School Nurse Practitioners (SNP), Family Nurse Practitioners (FNP), Neonatal Nurse Practitioners (NNP) or Clinical Nurse Specialists (CNS) who are eligible for certification or have been certified by the Pediatric Nursing Certification Board (PNCB), the American Nurses' Credentialing Center (ANCC), or the National Certification Corporation

2 (NCC); 2) Registered Nursing Faculty members who prepare PNPs, SNPs, FNPs, NNPs, or CNSs as delineated above; or 3) Graduates of a PNP Certificate Program prior to Associate- Associate members shall be any persons interested in fostering the objectives of the association. They shall not have the right to vote or hold office. Associate members may serve on committees or participate in Special Interest Groups in accordance with SIG policies.= 55 Fellow- A Fellow is an active member who has been certified by the Pediatric Nursing Certification Board (PNCB) or the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). 18 Student- Students are eligible for reduced dues if they are in their first Nurse Practitioner/CNS program and if they are registered nurses currently enrolled in an approved program whose graduates may become active members as delineated above. All benefits except voting rights are included. Student status is limited to three consecutive years. 6 Doctoral Student- Professional NP's, already eligible for active NAPNAP Membership, currently enrolled in any doctoral program, are eligible for reduced dues. All benefits except voting rights are included. Doctoral Student Status is limited to two consecutive years. 5 New Graduate- New Graduates are eligible for active membership at a reduced rate for the first year following the completion of their NP or CNS program. New Graduates receive all membership benefits. 4 Retiree- Retirees from PNP or CNS Practice/Employment are eligible for membership at one half the regular annual dues. 3 Updates and Discussion: Letters will need updated- new student member Courtney Huston had volunteered to help with membership list, so hoping she will do this and let office student do monthly membership. Continuing Education (Sara Neff): Conference Date April 28 th at Radisson in Coralville, IA. Currently there are 50 people signed up to attend. Greater than 50% of these enrollees are students. IANP members: 17, Non-Members: 5, Students: 25, Exhibitors: 3 1. Future advertising ideas:

5 a. send a postcard with the save the date for the conference to all PNPs not just our members. We can get access to this list by purchase from IBON. b. link for the center for conferences in the brochure, or on our website and think this would make it easier to register- not be searching the center of conferences at Iowa to register c. Advertise to FNP students and alert them they get 10 hours of clinical credit by attending the conference. 2. Listserv: Molly James is looking for someone to take over the Listserv. Would this fit into the web master role or membership? 3. INPS Combined Conference: Response from Theresa Hohertz regarding a combined conference with INPS in the future: a. Thanks for reaching out to us. We have had our annual board meeting and discussed this issue at great lengths. We feel that it is important and necessary that INPS and IANP continue to work together and develop a stronger relationship; however combining conferences surfaced some concerns from the INPS board. Here are a few: -Splitting 50% of funds with the college of nursing - this is not something INPS could support as an organization -Concerns voiced by IANP members about having to pay a higher price for a conference that may not cover very much pediatric content. Although we always try to include topics that are valuable to all specialties, if we increase the pediatric content, we may have to extend the conference to a third day. This would be even more expensive and might not be supported by INPS members. -The INPS board feel we need to ask our members for their insight and recommendations for what they expect from our annual conference and the possibility of combining conferences before we agree to continue. We are happy to include a request for feedback from our members at this year's conference - perhaps you could do the same at your spring conference? If the members of both organizations find a benefit in combining conferences, then we can work to make it happen next year. We are happy to continue to co-host Legislative Day with IANP and would love to explore other opportunities in which our two organizations can work together to provide all members further benefits. 4. Future of Continuing Education: Do we trial doing quarterly webinars and forgo an annual conference? Please provide any thoughts or feedback to Sara or a board member.

Winners were notified by on Monday April 10 th. Student scholarship winner: Jill Permeswaran Member scholarship winner: Natalie Van Waning We also received nominations for NP of the year and Loretta Ford Preceptor of the Year awards. IV.
