1 Centre for Microbiology Research KEMRI - FACES INTERNAL VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT Opening Date: 14 th November 2017 Closing Date: 21 st November 2017 Program Description: Family Aids and Education Services (FACES) is collaboration between the Kenya Medical Research Institute (KEMRI), University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) and University of Washington (UW)- and other affiliated institutions. Family AIDS Care and Education Services (FACES) program, is a comprehensive HIV prevention and Treatment program managing many sites within in Kisumu County. FACES program is seeking for a selfmotivated individual to fill the vacancies below: (1)POSITION: LEAD MOBILIZER Vacancy No REPORTING TO: SUB COUNTY LINKAGE, ADHERENCE & RETENTION OFFICER DEPARTMENT: SOCIAL SCIENCE DEPARTMENT LOCATION: Nyando Terms of Employment: 10 Months contract with 3 months probation period. Position Summary: The lead mobilizer will spearhead the mobilization of clients to uptake various facility based service. He/She will work with the other cadres within SSD to ensure various programme areas meet their targets by conducting community mobilization and education. Qualifications and Experience Diploma in Community Health and Development, Social Work or any other relevant field. At least two years work experience in field of community mobilization, organization and education. Knowledge, Skills and Attributes Required: Excellent inter personal and communication skills.

2 Knowledge of local traditions, and fluency in English, Kiswahili and Dholuo Must be flexible to work in any site of deployment. KEY POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES: Conduct mobilization for VMMC throughout the year Conducting mobilization for post-surgery review Liaise with the SSD staff to maximize on VMMC mobilization Linkage of identified HIV positive clients into care Identifying and recruiting freelance community mobilizers for VMMC and other programme areas. Organizing for community outreaches Conducting Community mobilization across different programme areas Collaborating and networking with relevant community groups Compiling and submitting relevant departmental reports (2)POSITION: FACILITY CUSTODIAN VACANCY AT VMMC SATELLITE CLINICS Vacancy No Facility In-charge Contract duration: 10 Months Holo and Ahero Clinics Roles and Responsibilities: Reports to the VMMC site in charge on a daily basis Maintain inventory of the assets and supplies within the facilities Act as a focal person for supplies management in the absence of a stores officer on site Ensure safe custody of all the equipment and supplies within the compound Record and maintain details of all the movements of both vehicles and personnel within the facilities Maintains compound neatness and makes a compound maintenance schedule as well as supervising all ground works Enhance facility security through close collaboration with the security guards and maintains a complete handing over report at all times and record and report any theft or loss within the facility in the occurrence log. Ensures there is peace and tranquility within the compound at all times and reports any commotion or disturbance that may interrupt or risk the life and state of both

3 personnel and equipment to management, security guards or police in a timely manner. Perform any other related duty that may be assigned in line with the duties and responsibilities by the supervisor. Desired Experience: Prior experience in a similar post preferably in the same sites and under the program Evidence of previous engagements by the program Academic & other Requirements: Minimum of KCSE Certificate with a minimum of D (plain) Certificate of Good Conduct Attach copy of Personal Identity Card (3)POSTION: EIMC LEAD MOBILIZERS VACANCY (2POST) Vacancy No EIMC in charge Contract duration: one year renewable Kisumu County Roles and Responsibilities: Reports directly to the early infant male circumcision (EIMC) in charge on a daily basis for administrative purposes, and to the respective SCLARO for technical support and planning Develop work plan for early infant male circumcision demand creation Conducts sensitization forums about circumcision but with a special emphasis to early infant male circumcision services Develop mobilization schedule and plans as per schedule Works with health care workers to reach out to potential clients in MNCH and maternity units Keeps inventory of all referral and makes follow up for successful linkage to circumcision clinics. Assists in development of EIMC materials as well as distribution of the same materials to various service delivery points. Networks with other mobilizers through the SCLAROS to reach out to all eligible clients within the supported sites

4 Supports any other demand creation and retention activity as may be assigned periodically by the management in consultation with the supervisor Academic Requirements: KCSE Certificate with a minimum of C- (Minus) Diploma in community health or social work from a recognized institution. Desired Experience: At least one year experience in health demand creation for HIV programs Prior experience in VMMC mobilization trends and priorities. Conversant with the distribution of high volume facilities within Kisumu County Must have served in a similar post or a related post within the program on a temporary basis or short contracts Certificate of Good Conduct Attach copy of Personal Identity Card Supportive documents as evidence of previous engagement with the program (4)Office Assistant Vacancy (2 Posts) Vacancy No Contract duration: Sub County Coordinator 10 Months FACES Sub County Offices, Katito and Nyang oma County Hospital Duties and Responsibilities: Kisumu County Clean, dust and mop office floors Empty trash cans and make sure that all trash is properly disposed off Clean and wash down windows and ensure that they are dried properly Ensure that the office kitchen and equipment is properly cleaned and maintained Wash down restrooms and ensure that they are sanitized correctly Replenish towels, soap and toilet paper in bathrooms on a regular basis Wipe down walls, doors, wall hangings, working desks and chairs using appropriate and provided cleaning supplies Replace light bulbs and identify maintenance issues Ensure proper cleanliness of the areas around the office such as walkways and parking lot Move around heavy equipment and furniture for the purpose of storage or rearranging Make sure that office is locked properly at the end of the day

5 Load and offload supplies for use within the facility. Any other duties as a signed by the management.
