1 Conferene Highlights The Exeutive Diretors of the Planning and Development Distrits welome you to the 2013 Annual PDD Conferene. The Distrits would like for this onferene to help you to better understand what is happening from a loal, state and national perspetive. Communities fae many hallenges, and the PDDs hope that this onferene will help you find new opportunities to address those hallenges. GENERAL SESSIONS: We have four great speakers this year for the general sessions. Our opening session speaker is Dr. David Dzielak, Exeutive Diretor of the Mississippi Division of Mediaid. Dr. Dzielak ame to the Division of Mediaid from the University of Mississippi Medial Center where he foused on the administrative proesses assoiation with the researh mission of the Medial Center. Dr. Dzielak will welome onferene partiipants to the oast, as well as share his insight into the Mississippi Mediaid program and the pending hanges that may our. Joe MKinney, Exeutive Diretor of the National Assoiation of Development Organizations, will join us for lunh on Wednesday. He will address the dynamis of politis and funding in the U.S. Capitol and its potential effets on loal ommunities. Thursday s lunheon will feature Lynn Fith, State Treasurer. Lynn will share the hallenges she has faed as Mississippi s wathdog for the taxpayers sine she was sworn in as Mississippi s 54 th Treasurer in Finally, Matt Jernigan will lead our losing session, one you don t want to miss. Matt will serve up hilarious omedy and grab the attention of everyone with his razy song parodies. CONCURRENT SESSIONS: We will have numerous onurrent sessions throughout the onferene. They will feature legislative updates from the Mississippi Assoiation of Supervisors and the Mississippi Muniipal League. Other sessions inlude: grant and loan resoures, utilizing the workfore for eonomi development, effetively addressing ommon land use problems, business loan resoures, methods for finaning publi failities, utilizing GIS mapping resoures, stormwater management, rural transportation, and ontinuing eduation hours for soial workers. From the latest grant programs to workfore training, ertainly you ll be able to find something of interest and eduation in these sessions.

2 ENTERTAINMENT: Tuesday will inlude the traditional Valley Golden Gator Golf Tournament and Early Bird reeption sponsored by Valley Servies, In. Tuesday will also inlude ooking lasses at the Mary C. O Keefe Cultural Center sponsored by Venture Tehnologies. Wednesday will end with a Coktail Hour sponsored by VALIC followed by dinner on your own. Heavy hors d oeuvres will be served Thursday at the gala along with entertainment provided by the Tip Tops. Then on Friday, join us for breakfast before you start your trip home. HELPFUL TIPS Door prizes will be given away during lunheons, the opening session, and the losing session. CEUs for Soial Workers are available for selet onurrent sessions. Approved sessions are noted throughout the agenda and are listed in the bak of this agenda. Please make sure you sign in at the appropriate session(s). Soial Workers will find an Attendane Certifiate in the bak of this agenda to keep up with the sessions you attend and as proof of your attendane to obtain your redits. Two (2) Certified Muniipal Offiial redits are available for attending the PDD onferene. Those seeking CMO redits should be sure to sign up at the registration desk to reeive redit for your attendane. Be sure to get your Exhibitor Page, found in the bak of the agenda, stamped by eah exhibitor, sign it, and bring it to the losing session on Thursday in order to be eligible to win the numerous door prizes that will be given away.
