Association des Francophones de Kitchener-Waterloo - Operating Request - Project Request 0 Voting in Favour 5 Voting in Opposition Recommendation: $1, Operating $ Project The committee deemed the grant request entirely as operational as the festival is already in existence and an ongoing annual event. 2. Bring on the Sunshine 1Voting in Opposition Recommendation: $1, Operating $ Project - none 3. Community Coalition on Refugee and Immigrant Concerns Recommendation: $2, Operating $ Project

2 Although Community Coalition on Refugee and Immigrant Concerns organization does not fit any of the funding categories, the committee deems World Refugee Day eligible under the festival category. Because the festival is an annual event the committee reviewed the grant request as operational. 4. Grand Porch Party, The Recommendation: $ Operating $ Project Because the Grand Porch Party is an ongoing annual event the committee deems the grant request to be operational. Future requests are to be submitted as such. 5. Irish Real Life Festival Recommendation: $2, Operating $ Project - none 6. K-W Oktoberfest Inc. 1 Conflict of Interest Recommendation: $ Operating $1, Project The committee congratulations K-W Oktoberfest on their 50 th Anniversary! 7. Link Network Recommendation: $1, Operating $ Project The committee recommends that the organization speak with staff regarding financial mentoring and advice prior to the next granting cycle.

Summer Lights Festival Recommendation: $2, Operating $ Project Because the Summer Lights Festival is an ongoing annual event the committee deems the grant request to be operational. The grant funding is intended to be used for the Waterloo Uptown event. The committee recommends that any future funding requests should identify the outcomes of this year s Waterloo expansion. 10. Waterloo Busker Carnival Inc. 2 Voting in Favour 3 Voting in Opposition Recommendation: $ Operating $0.00 Project The committee recognizes the importance of the Waterloo Busker Carnival request; however due to the limitations within the cash grant budget the committee recommends no project funding for FESTIVAL NEW APPLICANTS: 11. Rainbow Reels Queer and Trans Film Festival Recommendation: $1, Operating $ Project - none SPORTS APPLICANTS: 1. Skateable

4 Recommendation: $2, Operating $ Project The committee commends Skateable on its expansion of programming beyond the KW community. As the organization continues to grow the committee recommends the organization consider more detail to be included with their financials to help clarify revenues and expenses for continued success in future submissions. SPORTS NEW APPLICANTS: 2. For Hungarians in Canada Association Recommendation: $0.00 Operating $1, Project The committee supports the Euro Sport Fest 2018 project, however confirmation that the event will actually take place in June is required with City of Waterloo staff prior to release of the grant funding. 3. Kitchener Waterloo Sertoma Speed Skating 3 Voting in Favour 1 Conflict of Interest Recommendation: $ Operating $1, Project - none 4. Twin Cities Spinners Wheelchair Basketball Recommendation: $1, Operating $ Project - none NEIGHBOURHOOD NEW APPLICANTS: 1. Beechwood North Homes Association 3 Voting in Favour 2 Voting in Opposition Recommendation: $ Operating $ Project

Beechwood Park Homes Association Recommendation: $ Operating $1, Project Stipulations: All the expenses identified in the grant request were related to BPHA Celebrating 50 Years project; therefore the committee reviewed the application as a project request. RECREATION APPLICANTS: 1. Big Brothers Big Sisters of Waterloo Region Recommendation: $1, Operating $ Project - none 2. SPECTRUM Recommendation: $2, Operating $ Project The committee is concerned on the financial sustainability of the organization and reminds Spectrum that the cash grant program may not be able to provide ongoing annual funding based on available budget and competing community priorities. 3. Weekend Social Club 3 Voting in Favour 2 Voting in Opposition Recommendation: $ Operating $ Project The committee is concerned on the financial sustainability of the organization and reminds Weekend Social Club that the cash grant program may not be able to provide ongoing annual funding based on available budget and competing community priorities.

6 RECREATION NEW APPLICANTS: 4. Extend-A-Family Recommendation: $1, Operating $ Project Because the Count Me in March is an annual event, the funding request was considered operating. Although Extend-A-Family itself does not fit any of the grant funding categories, the committee deemed the Count Me In March eligible under the recreation category. 5. Waterloo Horticultural Society Recommendation: $ Operating $ Project - none Meeting Adjourned at 9:00 p.m. on Jan 11 and 8:00 p.m. Jan 16, 2018
