The Internatinal Assciatin fr Dental Traumatlgy (IADT) will hst its 18th Wrld Cngress n Dental Traumatlgy at the Military Museum and Culture Center, Istanbul, Turkey (19-21 June, 2014). The IADT Research Reprts will prvide researchers and clinicians thrughut the wrld with the pprtunity t present and discuss their investigatins. If yu are invlved in dental trauma, we urge yu t submit an abstract fr cnsideratin prir t February 28, Written cnfirmatin n the status f abstracts will be sent by March 14, GENERAL ABSTRACT RULES & GUIDELINES 1. Only ne (1) research abstract and/r ne (1) case abstract shall be presented per ne registered individual. 2. Individuals can c-authr multiple abstracts. 3. Only electrnically submitted abstracts will be accepted (Sectin 2). 4. Abstract papers will be printed as submitted and nt edited by cnference cmmittee... Prf read and edit prir t submissin 5. All abstracts must be submitted in English Presenter Agreement- All presenters must agree t the fllwing cnditins when submitting an abstract: 1. Affirm that any wrk with human r animal subjects reprted in the abstract cmplies with the guiding principles fr experimental prcedures fund in the Declaratin f Helsinki f the Wrld Medical Assciatin, and this research prject has been duly cleared by their Institutinal Review Bard (IRB) r institutinal Ethics cmmittee r an equivalent ethical bdy. 2. Agree that if the abstract is accepted, IADT has permissin t publish it in printed and/r electrnic frmats. 3. If yu are exceptinally unable t attend the meeting, a c-authr may d it if yu infrm the rganizatin in advance. 4. The cntents f the presentatin shuld be pertinent t dental traumatlgy (see als the Cngress themes with the tpics). 5. All abstract presenters are required t register fr the Cngress. 6. When the authr's registratin is nt cnfirmed by March 28, 2014, The Organizing Cmmittee will be frced t withdraw the abstract frm the fficial prgram. 1.2a. Research Presentatins: 1.2a.1. Oral Research Presentatins: A select number f research presenting authrs will be requested t make ral presentatins. The scheduled sessins are n Thursday, June 19, 2014 (2pm-7pm). The presenters will be given 6 minutes f presentatin (with slides), fllwed by 3 minutes f discussin. Time alltment is subject t IADT Admin Office: iadt@iadt-dentaltrauma.rg

Specific presentatin time alltment will be stipulated with cnfirmatin f ral presentatin. 1.2a.2. The presentatins shuld be cmpleted within this time frame using maximum 20 slides. Accepted ral research presentatins will als be requested as E-Psters (electrnic psters) that will be available n the cngress website prir t the event (see sectin 6). 1.2a.3. Based n available time alltments, there will als be invited research presentatins as E-Psters nly (see sectin 6). 1.2b. Case Presentatins: 1.2b.1. All Case Presentatins will be made by utilizing E-Psters displayed n LCD screens and they shuld be prepared accrdingly (see sectin 6). E-psters will be available fr participants viewing thrughut the cngress. 2. PREPARING TO SUBMIT AN ABSTRACT All abstracts must be submitted nline via the IADT 2014 cnference website. Faxes, phtcpies r ed cpies will nt be reviewed. Classificatin: Each abstract shuld be submitted under ne f the fllwing categries: Epidemilgy, scial aspects, educatin, diagnstics Esthetics/prsthetics/ restrative Oral & maxillfacial surgery/transplant/implant Pediatrics and rthdntics Preventin and sprts dentistry Enddntics and peridntal aspects 2. Titles, authrs and institutins: The sum fr the abstract title, authrs and institutins is limited t 10 wrds. Make the title dynamic and cnclusive, rather than descriptive. 3. Authrs: Each authr shuld be added separately t the submissin. Enter first (given) name, and last (family/surname) name fr each authr. One persn must be identified as the presenting authr. Place asterisk (*) after presenting authr. 4. Institutins: Please d nt list the department/branch in the institutin/affiliatin field. 5. Abstract Text: All abstracts shuld be 400 wrds r less. Titles, authrs and authrs' affiliatins are nt cunted in the characters limit (references are nt cllected). When cmpsing yur text, be sure t use a Wrd dcument file in rder t save yur abstract in advance. Yu can write yur abstract directly int the nline frm but we are nt respnsible if fr any reasn yur internet cnnectin fails. D nt include yur title r authrs in the abstract text these items will be cllected separately. D nt include references. If the abstract is based n research that was funded entirely r partially by an utside surce, then be sure t enter the apprpriate infrmatin (funding agency and grant number if applicable) at the title step. Yu d nt need t re-enter the infrmatin with yur abstract text. Hwever, all external funding must als be included in the presentatin (if accepted). Tables and Graphics shuld nt cmpse the abstract. 6. Cntent f the Abstract: The abstract must cntain a brief statement f: The Purpse, bjectives f the investigatin The experimental Methds and Materials used Essential Results, including data and, where apprpriate, statistics Cnclusin. Writing yur abstract at the last minute (this increases stress and leads t errrs). Make sure t shw yur abstract t a clleague prir t submissin t avid making cmmn mistakes Characters Limit Help 1. Always hyphenate when pssible (e.g., use cmpsite-resin restratins, rather than cmpsite resin restratins ), and string tgether cmplicated phrases with hyphens. 2. Abbreviate extensively (i.e., intrduce abbreviatins quickly and use them. D nt say hybrid zne but rather intrduce hybrid zne (HZ) and then use HZ frm that pint nward). 3. Always clse spaces between numbers and units (e.g., instead f 30 mm, say 30-mm r 30mm; never leave spaces between numbers & standard deviatins; and replace 30 ± 5 with 30±5 ). 4. Make sure that there is n inadvertent dangling punctuatin in the text, such as a cmma r perid that is nt immediately adjacent t a wrd. 5. Eliminate as many articles (a, an, the,...) as pssible. 6. String tgether all f the steps in the Materials & Methds sectin s that yu are nt starting and stpping individual sentences with separate subjects, verbs, and adjectives [e.g., The samples (n=10/gp) were etched (37% H3POO4), washed (15s), stred (37 C, 7d), cnditined (25 C, 10m), tested (0.1mm/m), and statistically analyzed (ANOVA, Tukey s, p<0.05). ]. 7. Reprt all statistical differences with superscripts n results that can be attached rather than requiring separate statements. 3. CRITERIA FOR ACCEPTANCE Presentatins will be selected n the basis f the scientific quality f the wrk as judged frm the abstract. An impartial panel f reviewers (three persns per Grup) will evaluate the cntent f each abstract. Selectin f the abstracts will be made by these reviewers and the Research Reprts Cmmittee, whse decisin is final. The fllwing are the evaluatin criteria used in the review f abstracts. This is prvided t call yur attentin t pints that will be cnsidered. Since the abstracts are published in ur cnference syllabus and becme part f the wrld s scientific literature, it is imprtant that the cntent be scientifically sund and grammatically crrect. Each abstract is reviewed s that high standards can be ensured. Reasns fr rejectin are: The research is nt innvative in its apprach t the stated prblem (methdlgy r data cllectin r analysis r data interpretatin). Nature f prblem nt explicit frm either title r abstract. Material t clsely related t anther abstract submitted by the same c- authrs; they shuld have been cmbined int a single paper. Abstract prly rganized and/r nt cmplete. Required infrmatin nt given in abstract: Purpse/Objective Methds and Materials Results (data and statistical analysis) Cnclusins Methds f btaining data nt apprpriate with respect t the stated prblem fr the fllwing reasns: Methds nt sufficiently precise t permit the measurements t be accurate, i.e., variatins are within the errr limits fr the methd. AWARDS will be presented t the best research (ral) and case (e-pster) presentatins. ELIGIBILITY: Presenting authr must be registered at the meeting. Due t the large number f submitted abstracts, award nminatins will first be selected based n the quality f the submitted research and case abstracts. Please prepare yur abstract paper accrdingly (see Abstract Instructins & Guidelines). ADJUDICATION: Nminated Research and Case Pster presentatins will be reviewed by a panel f judges during the scheduled award sessins. The Research Award nminees will be given 6 minutes f ral presentatin (with slides), fllwed by 3 minutes f discussin. The Case Pster Award nminees will make their presentatins (3 min ral + 2 min discussin) by using E-Psters n LCD displays (see E-Pster Preparatin sectin at ATTENDANCE: Presenting authrs must be present during the scheduled award sessins t be eligible fr awards (see Prgram Schedule fr Thursday, June 19, 2014). PRESENTATION: The awards will be presented Saturday, June 21, 2014 (4:00pm). We encurage all abstract presenters t be present. 5. NOTIFICATIONS OF ACCEPTANCE The fficial ntificatins will be ed in March 2014 t all accepted presenters. Please d nt call IADT regarding the status f yur abstract prir t this date. The accepted abstracts list will be als available at the 18th Wrld Cngress n Dental Traumatlgy cnference website at: 6. E-POSTER PREPARATION As an innvative way, the 18th Wrld Cngress n Dental Traumatlgy will make the accepted abstracts (research and case) available as E-Psters n the IADT 2014 website, in rder t stimulate discussin and allw mre peple t have access t the presentatins in the cngress. T this end, the E-Psters f research and case presentatins shuld be sent t: iadt@iadt-dentaltrauma.rg prir t May 9, E-psters will be available nly t the visitrs thrughut the event. 2. The presenting authrs can distribute hand-uts f their pster(s) during the presentatin(s). Preparing the e-pster The title shuld match exactly the title f the submitted abstract. It shuld be written in capital letters. Belw the title and in smaller letters there shuld be the name(s) f the authr(s), institutin, department/labratry, funding agencies, city (state) and cuntry. The presenter s name shuld be identified with an asterisk (*) and accmpanied by a pht psted n the upper right crner. The bdy f the pster shuld be self-explanatry, preferably with minimal text and maximum illustratins (pictures, diagrams and tables). Only fr research, it is suggested that the cnclusins are presented in bulleted frmat. It is nt mandatry t insert abstract r the references. The pster can be created in any sftware that save/exprt files as in JPG, JPEG r PNG file frmat. The tutrial is based n the Pwer Pint. Page - 4

G t the File menu, Page Setup and cnfigure a custm page size fr PwerPint 2000 (L 36 cm x 64 cm) r PwerPint 2003/2007/2010 (L cm x 50.8 cm) The difference between the versins is given, fr the PPT2000 saved at 72 dpi and PPT2003/2007/2010 at 96 dpi. Create yur pster n a single slide withut animatins, effects r transitins. Try t use large fnts, size 16 r higher fr bdy text. Save yur file in PwerPint, using Save As (n the File menu) as JPG, JPEG r PNG. Right-click the file where it is saved and chse prperties, then details and make sure that the file is with the fllwing specificatins: 1080x1920 pixels. IMPORTANT- Save yur file name as yur last name_first name.
