35 Student Achievement Improve student performance on the GHSGT, EOCT, AP and IB exams. Increase PSAT and SAT scores. Decrease failure and retention rates of 9 th grade students. Develop benchmark assessments aligned to EOCT, GHSGT, and AP/IB exams. Use benchmark assessments to identify student deficiencies. Provide before and after school programs to students in preparation for GHSGT, PSAT and SAT tests.
36 Stakeholder Involvement Increase recognition of student achievement. Increase student participation in student governance. Increase communication with feeder schools. Continuation of Senior Mentoring Program to provide additional support for 9th-grade students and the transition to high school. Continuation of AAA (Academic Achievement Assistance) Program to provide academic assistance to 9 th grade students in core subjects. Transformation of facility into a Global Museum that reflects International Studies and provides a true educational experience for students.
37 Instructional and Administrative Processes Develop vertical teaming, teacher collaboration and curriculum alignment with Ridgeview Middle School for implementation of the Middle Years Program. Increase instructional support through informal observations, mentoring and peer coaching. Provide common planning time for course teams to allow collaboration of teachers. Reduce number of preps for teachers and reduce class size in 9th and 10th grade core classes. Improve 8th grade feeder school student awareness of the high school experience.
38 Staff Learning and Growth Provide support for staff development opportunities aimed at the needs of new teachers. Increase reading and writing strategies across the curriculum. Provide training and support for subject course teams to strengthen collaboration between teachers and alignment of curriculum. Provide staff development and training centered around standards-based teaching and learning.
39 Parent Participation All parents are required to join the Riverwood PTSA. Parents will be elected by their peers to serve on the Riverwood Governance Council (Robin Hickey and Lynne Miller). All parents will be required to participate in at least two academic school activities per semester (i.e. parentteacher conferences, discipline conferences, IEP conferences, Open House, Parent Meetings, AP/IB Information Night, etc.). Parents will have the opportunity to contribute to the Riverwood Parental Resources Database, which will be a resource for teachers, allowing them to identify parents who might be able to assist with particular projects or activities.

Professional development and training for teachers that is relevant and meaningful. Provide time and resources to allow Course Teams to function as teams focused on best practices and student learning. Incorporation of the IB Learner Profile as a model for student, faculty and community learners.
50 FOCUS AND PRIORITIES Instructional support for differentiated instruction in all classrooms at all levels. Development of a long-range technology plan to support classroom instruction and student learning. Continuous review of school processes and procedures as they relate to student learning.
