5 The Saint Paul s School Words from The Alumni Cornerstone Club Over fifty years ago I graduated form Saint Paul s. The Christian Brothers and teachers gave me the knowledge and background to become a successful Radiologist. The longer I am away from the campus the more I appreciate the other things Saint Paul s has done for me. The lessons learned on how to behave, to teach and have empathy for others. And most importantly how to pray and have faith in God are far more important than the lessons learned in the old hot sweaty classrooms. Running a great school like Saint Paul s becomes more costly each year. Now is the time for each of us to return and support Saint Paul s like our parents and others supported the school when we obtained our education. Please be generous each and every year. You will be surprised how good you will feel knowing that you have helped the next generation of students and teachers at Our School. Mike Sullivan 57 Brother Raymond Bulliard demonstrates and expects honesty. So I must admit that while my annual giving's are consistent, they are regrettably minimal. However, working for tips as a younger man, I frequently hoped that every customer would tip me only $1 per transaction. The result would have been a three-fold earnings increase while nominally affecting individual customers. I consistently donate to Saint Paul s hoping that others will follow allowing Saint Paul s to more effectively educate and prepare young men for the vast challenges of the real world they will soon encounter. Brother Ray and staff thank you. Brian Richardson 91 Planned Giving Planned Giving is a set of ways a donor can leave money/assets to a nonprofit at his/her death; or a way to invest money so that the donor receives benefits during his/her life and then bequeaths the remaining funds to the nonprofit. Planned Giving is a complex program of various financial instruments that can be adapted to each donor's needs. In establishing a planned gift to advance the mission of Saint Paul s, you can also receive a guaranteed income for life and/or considerable tax savings. Contact Saint Paul s Development Office at ext 1270 or development@stpauls.com to learn more about available options and how your gift can provide you with many tangible benefits while generating substantial support for the school. We were informed last week that Saint Paul s was named a beneficiary of the late Dr. Louis Gallo s estate. We will receive approximately $25,000. Dr. Gallo was a good friend of the school and the Christian Brothers, and we are most grateful that he remembered us in his will. Dr. Gallo s son, Barry, is a 1973 alumnus of SPS and his grandson, Austin Frosch, is currently a sophomore. We are humbled by Dr. Gallo s faith in us. We offer prayers of gratitude as he enjoys eternal life after an earthly life of service and faith! Wolftracks Page 5

Our volunteers spent countless hours this year working hard to make each event a success! From transforming the cafeteria into a beautiful tea room for our new moms to providing a quick snack for our boys, the Mothers' Club was always there. Besides being event planners, through the efforts of our awesome Bookstore Volunteers, we were able to raise enough money to help send a group of students to California for the Lasallian Student Leaders Conference, provide necessary video equipment for the Guerilla Wolves, purchase new software programs for the Computer Science department, a new Spanish program, a new camera for Public Relations, and a banner for the swim team, just to mention a few of the many ways the Mothers' Club has supported the mission of Saint John Baptist de La Salle. This followed the Change-of- Command Ceremony held the day before on Hunter Field. Numerous national organizations were present to award cadets who met the specific criteria for the unique awards. Along with these guests were some special visitors: U.S. Army Captain Andre Jeansonne 93, who flew the helicopter over the Change-of-Command Ceremony; and our guest speaker, Mr. Garrett O Brien 03 and currently a seminarian at the Notre Dame Seminary in New Orleans. Mr. O Brien spoke about the meaning of true manhood in today s world. Besides the national awards, the top flight of the year was announced. A Flight, commanded by Michael Golden, 10, was the top flight; it also garnered first place for drill and sports. The Spirit of the Wolf Award went to senior cadet Mark Caragliano. Although a first year cadet, Mark volunteered for just about everything as he learned JROTC, and was an inspiration to the rest of the Corps of Cadets.
