(Funds of $100,000 or more) THE CHARLES BERRY 46 ENDOWMENT This fund was established in the spring of 1997 resulting from the estate of Charles Berry, Class of Its purpose is to provide tuition assistance to the young men of Saint Xavier. THE BILLINGTON FAMILY ENDOWMENT Kelly and Scot 87 Billington established this endowment fund in the spring of Their hope is that prospective students from severely disadvantaged backgrounds will feel welcomed on the Saint Xavier campus and encouraged to enroll and apply for need-based tuition assistance. Recipients will be from the school s Hispanic or African American population and will qualify for a full (100%) need-based award. THE LOUIS J. BOLAND 42 SCHOLARSHIP ENDOWMENT This endowment was established by Louis J. Boland, Class of 1942, in November of 1997 to provide support for tuition assistance for needy young men, regardless of race, religion or nationality, who desire a Catholic education at Saint Xavier. The student recipient of each year s grant will be chosen by Saint Xavier High School. BROTHER BENJAMIN BURKE, C.F.X. ENDOWMENT Brother Benjamin was principal of Saint Xavier High School from and again from The fund was established in 1986, in memory of Brother Benjamin, to provide tuition assistance for needy young men, regardless of race, religion or nationality, who desire a Catholic education as provided by the Xaverian Brothers at Saint Xavier. FRANK W. BURKE, JR. 67 ENDOWMENT In December of 1995, the Saint Xavier family lost one of its brightest members with the death of Frank W. Burke, Jr. 67. To honor his memory, classmates, family and friends established a memorial endowment fund in his name. This fund will be used to provide need-based tuition grants for young men who desire a Saint Xavier education. BROTHER CONRAD CALLAHAN, C.F.X. 38 ENDOWMENT The Brother Conrad Callahan, C.F.X. 38 Endowment was established in his memory to support the Media Center which bears his name and was constructed while he was principal of the school. THE DICK AND MARIE CHARRON ENDOWMENT This endowment was established in the fall of 2001, by the Charron brothers, Paul 60, Jack 63, David 66, Ken 71, Michael 75 and Mark 76 to honor their father and mother, Dick and Marie Charron. The endowment will support Saint Xavier s merit-based tuition assistance program. Funds will be used to award merit scholarships in each academic year and have no other restrictions. Saint Xavier s Xavier Scholar Committee will make these award selections.
2 THE CLASS OF 1953 ENDOWMENT This endowment is in celebration of the lives of all members of the Class of It is a reflection of the class commitment to provide the Saint Xavier experience for generations to come. This endowment provides a tuition grant for at least one Saint Xavier student each year. This student must demonstrate financial need. The award will be renewable as long as the student maintains his required academic standing. The award will be made to any young man meeting the criteria, regardless of race, religion or nationality. Saint Xavier will select the student based on the above criteria. NEW-THE CLASS OF 1961 ENDOWMENT This endowment, established by members of the Class of 1961, is in celebration of their 50 th anniversary since graduation. It is a legacy to Saint Xavier and a tribute to the Xaverian Brothers. The endowment is a part of the school s plan to prepare for the future by providing need-based tuition assistance to young men who want to attend St. X and need financial support. This establishes a permanent endowment at Saint Xavier, supporting Tiger students for decades to come, with preference given to descendants of the Class of THE CLASS OF 1963 ENDOWMENT The Class Endowment was established in the fall of 2003 by members of the Class of 1963 on the occasion of their 40 th class reunion, and became a Named Endowment at the conclusion of the forty-fifth class reunion. This endowment provides support for the need-based tuition grants as awarded by Saint Xavier s tuition assistance program. Each year, one student will be selected as a recipient and will be renewable as long as the student maintains his academic standing. THE CLASS OF 1978 ENDOWMENT This endowment was established in March of 1998 by members of the Class of 1978 as a precelebration of their twenty-fifth anniversary reunion in the year It is a reflection of the class commitment to provide the Saint Xavier experience for generations to come. The fund will be used to provide a tuition grant for at least one student each year. The student must be a legacy of the Class of 1978 and demonstrate financial need. The award will be renewable as long as the student maintains his required academic standing. The award will be made to any young man meeting the criteria, regardless of race, religion or nationality. 3 THE CLASS OF 1987 ENDOWMENT This endowment established in 2013 by the members of the Class of 1987, is a reflection of a commitment to provide the Saint Xavier experience for generations to come. Earnings from the class endowment can provide tuition assistance for at least one Saint Xavier student each year. This student must qualify for a need-based award as a part of Saint Xavier s Tuition Assistance Program. The award will be renewable as long as the student maintains his required academic standing. The award will be made to any young man meeting the criteria, regardless of race, religion or nationality. Saint Xavier will select the student based on the above criteria. THE BROTHER EDWARD DRISCOLL, C.F.X., HONORARY 89 ENDOWMENT This fund, founded in the spring of 1992 by an anonymous donor, was established to provide tuition assistance for needy students and for continuing faculty education. The first Taste of St. X celebration held in May 1993 provided a generous increase in the endowment fund, thereby allowing us to carry forth Brother Edward s special commitment to the future of young men at St. X. THE TOM EIFLER, SR. 60 FAMILY ENDOWMENT Tom Eifler, Sr., Class of 1960, and his family established this endowment in the spring of 2001 in memory of Charles H. Eifler, Class of This endowment will support Saint Xavier s needbased tuition assistance program. Funds will be used to award tuition grants each academic year and have no other restrictions. THE ANTHONY J. 76 AND THOMAS E. 82 ELPERS MEMORIAL ENDOWMENT This endowment was established in the summer of 2000 by the family and friends of Anthony J. Elpers 76 and Thomas E. Elpers, Jr. 82. Income will be used to award the neediest students qualifying for support from Saint Xavier s tuition assistance program. Tony and Tom, both lost tragically, were great believers in the education offered by Saint Xavier and this memorial endowment affords other young men the opportunity to attend in their memory. THE THOMAS L. EVANS, III MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP The family and friends of Tommy Evans established this endowed scholarship in the summer of 2004 with the hope that a young man at Saint Xavier will be rewarded for his efforts in loving memory of Tommy. Specifically, this fund will provide need-based tuition assistance for those students showing the greatest economic need and greatest promise upon completion of their freshmen year in the Saint Xavier Excel Program. The program, designed to work with students who have learning differences, has demonstrated how beneficial an award of this nature can be for a student s academic progress. Each year, at least one student will be selected as a recipient, and the opportunity is renewable. The award is open to students of any race, religion or nationality. FACULTY SALARY ENDOWMENT When the Xaverian Legacy Campaign began in the summer of 1996, it was determined to establish an endowment for faculty salaries. Over the years many benefactors have
4 encouraged the school to appropriately compensate the faculty for their commitment to the young men of St. X. THE GARAU FAMILY ENDOWMENT In memory of Nina R. Garau, this endowment was established by Al Garau, Class of 1960, in the summer of 2001 to provide support for young people who desire a Saint Xavier education and cannot afford one. Funds will be used to award tuition grants each academic year. The Garau family creates this endowment with sincere appreciation to Saint Xavier: Kristin Joseph Garau 87, Joseph Michael Garau 86 and Matthew Caleb Garau THE EVAN LEE GATES, HONORARY 07 MEMORIAL ENDOWMENT This memorial endowment was established in the fall of 2004, by members of the Gates family and several close friends. Evan was a proud member of the Class of 2007 and sadly lost his battle with cancer in As a tribute to his life and special place in the Saint Xavier family, the endowment will provide a need-based tuition grant to a Saint Xavier student each academic year. THE GRISANTI FAMILY ENDOWMENT This endowment, established by the Grisanti family in the fall of 2008, will be used to create The Grisanti Lecture Series on Ethics. The series, offered each academic year to benefit students and faculty, is designed to encourage a meaningful dialog on the importance of individual ethical values in today s society. The Grisanti family provided these funds in gratitude for the ethical values developed in them by Saint Xavier High School. BROTHER EDWARD JOSEPH, C.F.X. ENDOWMENT This endowment was established in 1996 by the Earl Reed 69 family to honor Brother Edward and his commitment to music education at Saint Xavier. Brother Edward was the Band Director for over 20 years during the 1940 s, 50 s and 60 s. The band always added a great sense of school spirit at any event they played. Brother Edward s love for music and the students will never be forgotten. This endowment will be used to provide funds for the Saint Xavier music department. THE JOSEPH PATRICK KELLY AND DOROTHY VIGNEAULT KELLY ENDOWMENT The Joseph Patrick Kelly and Dorothy Vigneault Kelly Endowment was established in their memory by their children, Patricia M. Kelly and Brother James M. Kelly, C.F.X., with the proceeds from the sale of Brother James M. Kelly s book, Respecting the Man the Boy Will Become, and increased by proceeds from the second Taste of St. X held in May This endowment will be used to provide funds for the Saint Xavier need-based tuition assistance program. The JAMES J. KIRCHDORFER 58 MEMORIAL ENDOWMENT The Kirchdorfer family established this endowment in memory of James J. Kirchdorfer, Sr. Each academic year, Saint Xavier High School will provide at least one need-based tuition assistance award to a St. X student. The Kirchdorfer family has always encouraged young people to be
5 active individuals and first preference will be given to students with a significant interest in extracurricular activities that promote a healthy lifestyle. THE SISTER FRANCES MIRIAM LOKER ENDOWMENT This endowment was established by an anonymous donor in February of 1998 to provide a tuition grant for at least one Saint Xavier student each year. This student will be the highest qualifier on the Saint Xavier Placement Exam and demonstrate financial need. In addition, this award will be renewable as long as the student maintains his required academic standing. The award will be made to any young man meeting the criteria, regardless of race, religion or nationality. THE CATHERINE AND LOUIS MASTICOLA ENDOWMENT This endowment was established in memory of Catherine and Louis Masticola in the spring of The Masticola s were long-time friends of Saint Xavier High School and had a deep appreciation and love for the school. This fund will be used to provide need-based tuition grants for young men who desire a Saint Xavier education. THE MCALLISTER FAMILY ENDOWMENT The McAllister Family - Dr. Donald T. 56, Michael T. 92 and Kevin M. 93 Endowment was established in December of 1998 to provide support for tuition assistance for minority students who desire a Catholic education at Saint Xavier. The student of each year s grant will be chosen by Saint Xavier High School. JEFFERSON T. 55 AND MARTHA MCMAHON ENDOWMENT IN APPRECIATION FOR BROTHER JAMES KELLY, C.F.X. This fund was established by Jefferson T. and Martha McMahon in 1995 in appreciation for Brother James M. Kelly, C.F.X. to provide funds for Saint Xavier s need-based tuition assistance program. JOHN CHARLES MINIHAN 86 MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP Mr. and Mrs. John M. Minihan established the fund in October of 1986 in memory of their son. Its purpose is to furnish tuition assistance to a needy student enrolled in journalism at St. X. THE JOSHUA J. NORTHUP 94 MEMORIAL ENDOWMENT This endowment was established in the summer of 2006 by the friends and family of Josh Northup, Class of 1994, in hopes that a boy will always be attending Saint Xavier in Josh s memory. To qualify, students must have a strong commitment to the academic program and be African-American. Recognizing Saint Xavier s commitment to need-based tuition assistance, this fund will direct its income for the neediest students qualifying for support from Saint Xavier s tuition assistance program. THE VICTOR J. PERRONE 87 ENDOWMENT SCHOLARSHIP FUND In an endeavor to honor and remember Victor J. Perrone, the Saint Xavier Class of 1987 established a scholarship fund in his name. Anyone who knew Victor remembers his spirit,
6 energy, and love of life. In fact, his presence was enough to change moods for the better or at least to convince you to look at the brighter side. This fund sponsors a need-based tuition grant for a young man in his pursuit of the St. X experience, one of the finest secondary educations available. NEW-THE RAQUE FAMILY MEMORIAL ENDOWMENT Initially established in the winter of 1997, in memory of Rose and Emil J. Raque, Sr. and revised in the summer of 2016, by the Jack 53 and Russ 56 Raque Family, to honor deceased members of their family. The endowment will provide support for need-based tuition assistance for the neediest young men attending Saint Xavier High School and is open to students of any race, religion or nationality. THE FRANK SCHAEFER 44 ENDOWMENT Established in the fall of 2005 by his brother, Vernon Schaefer, Class of 1941, to provide needbased awards to Saint Xavier s tuition assistance program. The Schaefer s have had a longstanding involvement with St. X and want to ensure the continued support for the young men it educates. AL J. SCHNEIDER ENDOWMENT This endowment was established in December of 1996 to assist Saint Xavier with its ongoing tuition assistance program. The fund will be used to assist at least one worthy student qualifying for a need-based tuition grant and maintaining a strong academic record. The award will be made to any young man meeting the criteria, regardless of race, religion or nationality. THE STEINBOCK FAMILY SCIENCE ENDOWMENT The Steinbock Family Science Endowment was established in December of 1997, to provide support for the Saint Xavier Science Department. The fund will enable faculty to continue their fine tradition of teaching science and provide ongoing equipment replacement. THE HENRY C. STORCH ENDOWMENT The Henry C. Storch Endowment was established in his memory in the spring of Mr. Storch was a long-time friend of Saint Xavier High School and had a deep appreciation and love for the school. This fund will be used to provide need-based grants for young men who desire a Saint Xavier education. THE JAMES W. STUCKERT ENDOWMENT James Stuckert, Class of 1955, to honor the Xaverian Brothers and Saint Xavier High School for the continued commitment to the young people of our community, established this endowment in the spring of The endowment will support Saint Xavier s merit-based tuition assistance program each academic year. THE ROSE, CARL AND ROSE MARIE SUNDERHAUF ENDOWMENT C. W. Wally Sunderhauf 44, in loving memory of his parents Rose and Carl, and his sister, Rose Marie, established this endowed scholarship. Wally had a great appreciation of his
7 parents for the many blessings and opportunities afforded to him, and he held the relationship with his sister in a very special place. This endowment will provide tuition assistance for young men attending Saint Xavier High School and is open to students of any race, religion or nationality. NEW-THE TAFEL FAMILY SCHOLARSHIP ENDOWMENT This endowment was established by the members of the Tafel family, Addison 01, George 03, Allen 81, Cody 97, James 70, John, Sr. 48, John, Jr. 78, Michael 80, Paul 38, Paul, III, Thomas 72, G. Campbell Barnum, Jr. 81, Grant Thomas, Jr. 97 and W. Clay Thomas 99 in December of 1998 to provide tuition assistance for needy young men, regardless of race, religion or nationality, who desire a Catholic education at Saint Xavier. AND KATHLEEN KIT TAMBURRO MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP The Tamburro children, Alex 91, Carlo 90, Katerina and Stefan 95, to fund their parents intentions to provide a scholarship for a Saint Xavier student, established this endowment in the spring of NEW-THE BENARD F. Brother has touched the lives of many St. X boys and this endowment acknowledges their continued appreciation to him. Several other alumni have since contributed and the fund now provides continued financial support to today s Speech and Debate students. THE RASHAAN ROLAND WILLIS, HONORARY 98 SCHOLARSHIP ENDOWMENT This endowment was established by family and friends of Shaan in 1997, and is designed to provide tuition assistance for needy young men, regardless of race, religion or nationality, who desire a Catholic education at Saint Xavier. This award has been created to remember Shaan s incredible love for his community and to remind us of his belief in the power of diversity and

ZURKUHLEN 32 SCHOLARSHIP ENDOWMENT This endowment was established by the Zurkuhlen Family in December of 1997, to provide a tuition grant for one Saint Xavier student. This student will be in his sophomore year at St. X, demonstrate financial need, score in the top quartile on the entrance exam, earn at least a 3.2 GPA at the end of his freshman year and exemplify a strong sense of family values.
