Food and drink available. Sponsor: GREEN BAY MODEL AIRPLANE CLUB Hello Everyone, Presidents Corner It is May already and I hope that we are done with the snow. The temps are getting better and I know of a couple people that have been out to the field, maybe not our field, but Manitowoc. I took the motorcycle out to see how wet it was and was surprised to see that it looked fairly dry. I did not walk around out there but there was no standing water that I could see driving by. I am still working on the Hellcat and have the whole plane in primer. Still planning to have it done by June. I hope the weather stays on the nicer side and we can start flying soon. Charge those batteries!!! The recent monsoons have flooded many local areas and I m sure the gate is double locked until things dry up. 2 continued from page 1 Meeting Notes Minutes from the March 9, 2018 Meeting. Meeting was called to order at 7: members were in attendance. Minutes from the March meeting were read and approved. The treasurer s report for March was given and approved. March expenses were utilities, newsletter expenses, GO Daddy web site renewal, corporation charter and AMA club charter renewal. April bills are utilities and Outreach Youth Center donation. Motion passed to pay the bills. OLD BUSINESS The new website is up and running. The boat registration for the float fly site has been sent in. NEW BUSINESS The AMA is holding a National Model Aviation Day on the 11 th of August. If we participate, we may be selected to have our club registration fee waived for next year. We are considering having a picnic or other event. Any proceeds will be donated to the AMA Foundation for club improvement grants. A discussion was held on the possibility of adding a fabric or carpet runway to the electric fly area. More research is needed on materials and costs. A motion was passed to inspect and repair or replace the fire extinguishers at the field. Some of the club members went to the Toledo Weak Signals Swap event. They were very impressed with the large inflatable indoor flying dome (250 x 400 ft). Show itself was taken over by the drone flying area with very little swap activity and fewer vendors than last year. Meeting adjourned at 7:37 pm.
