Richardson, a junior from Los Angeles, Calif., caught 10 passes for 208 yards and two touchdowns in the Buff s season-opening win over Colorado State on Sunday. Two of his receptions went for 75 yards or more, including an 82-yard touchdown reception from Connor Wood to open the game. It was Richardson s first game back after missing all of the 2012 season rehabbing a knee injury that ended his 2011 campaign early. The over-200 yard performance was the only one in the nation over the weekend and just the fourth in Colorado history. Richardson now owns two of those four efforts, with the first one coming against California in 2011 where he set the school mark of 284. Bondurant, a junior from Vallejo, Calif., led the Wildcat defense in a 35-0 shutout against Northern Arizona on Friday night. The Arizona safety collected a game-high seven tackles, including one for loss, and picked off a pair of passes. The first one came just after half time when Bondurant stepped in front of a tipped pass and returned it 23 yards for a touchdown, his second career interception return for a score. Later in the third quarter he jumped in front of another pass, securing his first career multi-interception game. D Amato, a senior place-kicker from Lake Forest, Calif., accounted for a career-high 18 points in the Bears loss to Northwestern on Saturday night. D Amato thew a 10-yard touchdown pass to holder Jackson Bouza on a faked field goal attempt at the conclusion of California s first drive. The senior converted three field goals in his first three attempts to tie a career-high and made all three of his extra-point attempts. Also nominated for offensive player of the week honors were quarterbacks Travis Wilson of UTAH, Brett Hundley of UCLA and Sean Mannion of OREGON STATE, running backs Daniel Jenkins of Arizona, Tre Madden of USC and Bishop Sankey of WASHINGTON, and wide receiver Chris Harper of California. Also nominated for defensive player of the week honors were linebackers Addison Gillam of Colorado, Eric Kendricks of UCLA, and John Timu of Washington, safety Josh Shaw of USC and defensive end Nate Orchard of Utah. Also nominated for special teams player of the week honors were kickers Will Oliver of Colorado, Andre Heidari of USC and Andy Phillips of Utah, and linebacker Kenny Orjloke of UCLA Pac-12 Football Players of the Week Offense Defense Special Teams 9/2 Paul Richardson, WR, COLO Tre Mayne Bondurant, S, ARIZ Vincenzo D Amato, PK, CAL AROUND THE PAC-12 THE RUSH: Seven Pac-12 players rushed for 100 or more yards in the opening weekend, led by WASH- INGTON junior Bishop Sankey with 161 yards in the win over No. 19 Boise State. OREGON set a school record with three players each posting better than 100 yards rushing - De Anthony Thomas (128 yds), Byron Marshall (124 yds) and Marcus Mariota (113 yds). THE PASS: Six Pac-12 quarterbacks threw for 300 or more yards, including three performances for 400 or more yards - CALIFORNIA s Jared Goff (455 yds), OREGON STATE s Sean Mannion (422 yds) and COLO- RADO s Connor Wood (400 yds). Unfortunately, three of the top four efforts last weekend came in a losing effort... One of the most efficient efforts came from WASHINGTON senior QB Keith Price, who completed 23 of 31 passes for 324 yards and a pair of TDs, giving him 56 for his career - a new school record (25th on the Pac-12 career list). ISN T THAT SPECIAL: Pac-12 teams saw their special teams turn in strong performances as several field goal kickers were perfect during the opening week of the season. COLORADO s Will Oliver was a perfect 4-of-4 with a career-high tying 52-yarder. Three others - CALIFORNIA s Vincent D Amato, USC s Andre Heidari and UTAH s Andy Phillips were a perfect 3-of-3. Heidari also booted a career-best 52-yarder, while D Amato tossed a touchdown pass on a fake field goal attempt. For Phillips, a redshirt freshman, it was the first time he s ever kicked in an organized game at any level. Phillips is a former U.S. Ski Team member... Overall, Pac-12 kickers converted 18 of 21 field goal attempts (85.7 percent) in the opening week. FAN SUPPORT: OREGON, UTAH and WASHINGTON played before capacity crowds as an average of 55,684 fans attended games in Pac-12 venues, or 91.6 percent of capacity of the seven Pac-12 hosted home games last week. THE POLLS: For the second time in league history, and in back-to-back years, two Pac-12 teams appear among the Top 5 in the AP preseason poll - No. 3 OREGON and No. 4 STANFORD. The lineup is led by the Rose Bowl presented by Vizio, which is the destination for the Pac-12 champion, unless said champion is ranked No. 1 or No. 2 in the final Bowl Championship Series rankings. If that were the case, the Pac-12 champion would play in the BCS National Championship Game hosted by the Discover Orange Bowl. Regardless of the disposition of the Pac-12 champion, a second Pac-12 team may be selected for an at-large berth in the Bowl Championship Series in any given year and other Pac-12 bowl partner arrangements provide for that occurrence. In addition to the Rose Bowl presented by Vizio, Pac-12 bowl partners include, in order of selection, the Valero Alamo Bowl in San Antonio, Bridgeport Education Holiday Bowl in San Diego, Hyundai Sun Bowl in El Paso, the Las Vegas Bowl, the Kraft Fight Hunger Bowl in San Francisco, and the Gildan New Mexico Bowl in Albuquerque.
