He is attending Luther High School in Onalaska, WI and was here for career building. While job shadowing, Joshua is able to watch how the studio work is done and what it takes the on-air announcer to their job. He was able to ask any questions he had. Alec a job shadow from Riverfront 1 visited the WRQT studio at 2pm. This was set up by his teacher, Sarah. He was able to get an understanding of what the duties are for an on-air announcer, while being able to ask any questions regarding job opportunities here at Mid West Family Broadcasting. Career Expo at the Tandeski Center on 2 the campus of Minnesota State College Southeast from 1am to 3pm. More than 6 students from seven different high schools attend. Lori Morton- Lockley and Aimee Meier manned the booth and were able to provide students with an understanding of career opportunities that are available at Mid West Family Broadcasting. They were also able to answer any questions the students had about careers in the Radio business. Wisconsin Broadcasters Association Scholarship Program. Kristy ix, Business Manager/EEO Director, reviewed and ranked all scholarship applicants based on their application in the area of academics, broadcast experience, work experience, activities and honors. Those rankings were sent to the WBA and used to help determine the scholarship winner. During this tour they learned of all departments that make up our stations, job opportunities in each department, how the business works. They were able to ask questions at the end. On 1/25/217 General Manager/Director 3 Rick McCoy, Director of Marketing, Joe Daguanno and General Manager, Lynn Bieritz attended an EEO Seminar at the Wisconsin Broadcasters Association Winter Conference from 1:45am to 11:45am at the Concourse Hotel in Madison, WI. The session, "Avoiding Discrimination In Employment Terminations" focused on protecting yourself from legal claims based on the decision to terminate an employee. An overview of the most important laws for Wisconsin employers and practical advice about avoiding and defending employment discrimination claims. Mid West Family Broadcasting 3 participated in the Wisconsin Broadcasters Association Winter Job Fair on 1/25/217 which was held from 8:3am to 1:3am at the Madison Concourse Hotel in Madison, WI. Lynn Bieritz, Joe Daguanno and Rick Mc Coy attended the event. Radio spots aired prior to the event encouraging applicants to attend. West Salem High School Student Cody 1 Anderson sat in with James Hill in the WIZM-FM Studio from 3:2pm to 5pm. Cody was able to witness how the in studio part of Radio works and the job duties included. The course is a 3 year module which provides individuals with education on improving business knowledge, leadership skills and being an effective manager. The 3 topics covered this year were: 1.) Financial Management for Broadcasters. 2.) Customer Service and 3.) Investigating Leadership Style. Employees from Radio and TV companies around Wisconsin attended the course to acquire skills that could promote themselves for a higher level position and improve on their current roles.
