8 NCAA Recruiting Rules Coach s can: observe prospects at matches talk to seniors after the match call senior s once a week send recruiting information to seniors correspond with prospects by mail or Recruit juniors for Academy Teams

9 NCAA Recruiting Rules Coach s may not: talk to prospects during a match ask prospects to practice/demonstrate call before their senior year promise more than 1 year s scholarship provide jobs/loans

10 Official Visits 5 during senior year Institution pays for visit 48 hours Must have transcript and test scores in to admissions or coach Register with NCAA Eligibility Center Parents can come Recruit receives 3 complimentary admissions

11 Amateurism NCAA Amateurism Certification Accepting Prize Money prospects can accept monetary awards up to the cost of participating in that match Must be provided by the match sponsor student-athletes cannot accept any monetary awards once enrolled Double check with coach and compliance

12 National Letter of Intent Contract stating that recruit will attend a particular institution for the next year. Early and Late signing periods November April August Academy s use Participation Agreements

13 How you can Help Provide experience opportunities. Get to know college coaches and their philosophies/coaching style. Contact coaches if you think there s a fit. Encourage shooters to contact coaches. Remind shooters that grades are important. You can get complimentary admission as well!
