1 Illinois State Scholars Scholarship Awarded to all students designated Illinois State Scholars. One-time monetary award-$2,000. Dale and Mary Turvey Scholarship One Scholarship presented. Awarded to the senior student with the most improved cumulative weighted GPA from freshman year through 8 th semester of high school. One-time monetary award-$500. Jeremy Strawn/ASG Scholarship One Scholarship presented. Awarded to the senior softball player with the highest cumulative weighted GPA through the 8 th semester of high school. One-time monetary award - $300 General Foundation Scholarship Awarded to all students who apply. One-time monetary award-$500. Students designated Illinois State Scholars are not eligible

2 Frances and Curtis Hoppin Trust Scholarship 2 Scholarships presented: o One to student attending a 2-year college-$500. o One to student attending a 4-year college/university-$1,000. One-time monetary award. Criteria used to evaluate applicants: o GPA, weighted. o Courses taken. o ACT or SAT test scores. o Financial need o Extra-curricular activities, Community activities, Job/work experience o Character o Hoppin Scholarship Application. o High School transcript with test scores. o College transcript (applicable if the student has taken college courses while in high school). o Two letters of reference from high school teachers. o 300-word essay about yourself, college and career goals. Junior Football League (JFL) Scholarship Scholarships presented to all applicants who meet the criteria of JFL and High School football participation. One time monetary scholarship award- $300. Criteria used to evaluate students applications. o Applicant must have participated in Junior Football League for at least three (3) years. o Applicant must have played football at PHS for four (4) years. o If the athlete is injured during the season and does not return, this will count as a completed year. o If a student is injured prior to the season and does not return before the end of the season, this does not count as a completed year. o The PHS athletic director will certify the applicants have completed four (4) years of football. o President of the JFL or an authorized representative will certify that the applicant has participated in JFL for three (3) years.

3 Application Requirements o JFL Application Form (includes certification of participation in football). Salzeider Family Scholarship Two scholarships presented. -$500 each. One time scholarship. transcript to the High School counselor by Feb 20th. Criteria used to evaluate students applications. o While a student at PHS, must have participated on one athletic team for at least three years or participated in a co-op sport with another school. o Members of the PHS cheerleading squads are also eligible. o If the athlete is injured during the season and does not return, this will count as a completed year. o If a student is injured prior to the season and does not return before the end of the season, this does not count as a completed year. o The PHS athletic director will certify the applicants have completed three years in at least one sport each year. The Cheerleading coach will certify if the applicant is a cheerleader. Application Requirements o Salzeider Application Form. o Student must submit a brief narrative (less than 150 words) describing the applicant s community service, volunteer activities or support to a non-profit activity. Lawrence Boarman Scholarship One scholarship presented for $1,000. Criteria used to evaluate students applications. o Applicant must major or minor in an agriculture field or in a medical related field to be considered. o Applicant must demonstrate a financial need. 4 Homer and Daisy King Scholarship One scholarship presented for $500. One-time monetary award. Criteria used to evaluate the applicants. o Demonstrated record of good citizenship. o Pawnee Community Education Foundation Scholarship Applicant Information Form o King Scholarship Application Form with a one page essay by the applicant describing their contributions and achievements in the area of citizenship. Jerry Lyons Scholarships Scholarships are presented for $250. One time monetary award. Must have played high school baseball for three years including the applicant s junior and senior year. Must have maintained a 3.75 weighted GPA. Criteria used to evaluate the applicants. o Certification by High School Athletic Director and High School Counselor of eligibility. o Jerry Lyons Scholarship Application Form. Tandra Murphy Scholarship Scholarship is for $500 and a onetime scholarship. Awarded to a female athlete who participated in softball or volleyball for at least 3 years. Must have maintained a 3.50 weighted GPA. Criteria used to evaluate the applicants. o Certification by High School Athletic Director and High School Counselor of eligibility. o Tandra Murphy Scholarship Application Form. Illinois State Scholars are eligible to receive: All scholarships except for the General Foundation Scholarships.
