8 Staff Highlight: Ashlee Burt BRAE Academic Advisor Departments: Animal Science; BioResource & Agricultural Engineering; Dairy Science; MAP Student Center Contact Information: Building 74M-A We would like to extend a warm welcome to our new Academic Advisor for both ASM and BRAE students. Ashlee comes to us from University of California, Irvine where she holds bachelor s degrees in psychology and sociology. After college, she knew one day that she would like to get her Masters but first she wanted to spend some time in the industry. This included two years in Mongolia working for the Peace Corps. She likes to say, This is where I first got introduced to agriculture. Ashlee is graduating in June with her Masters in Counseling and Guidance from Cal Poly. She has had the opportunity, while in the Masters program, to have internships working as an intern in Engineering Counseling and the Study Abroad Program. She is now a full-time BRAE, ASM, Animal Science, and Dairy Science Academic Advisor. She highly recommends studying abroad, calling it a very worthwhile experience that she would recommend to anyone. In her free time away from campus, she enjoys traveling, hiking, and reading at the beach. Don t wait to come to the advising center! If you are struggling, confused, or just have a questions about campus, please come and see us, Ashlee stated.
