6 6 Hi EWB, Meetings: Monday- Critical Global Engagement Club, Project Team Meetings Tuesday - IMPACT Thursday - Tea Time Our first General Meeting will be on Wednesday 9/26 from 7:00-9:00 pm in the ATL (building 007) Project Team Meetings will officially begin Monday 10/1 All Project Team Meetings will now take place in building 38 Critical Global Engagement Club: Sustainability Task Force (STF) is transitioning into Critical Global Engagement (CGE) Club. CGE Club is open to everyone and is a space to critically examine ethical global engagement and development and how we fit into a global framework. We will host workshops, activities and discussion and work on projects to improve the socio, economic, cross-generational and environmental sustainability of EWB. This week we will be doing an introductory workshop and introducing future projects. Join us Mondays 6-7pm in ! NO MEETING. Project Meetings are every Monday from 7:00-9:00 pm for Local Projects, Nicaragua, and Malawi, and 8:00-10:00 pm Thailand and Fiji. NO MEETING THIS WEEK UNLESS NOTIFIED BY PM s. Feel free to try out different project teams and be sure to introduce yourselves to the PMs if you re new to EWB! Here are the team room locations: Fiji: Local Projects: Thailand: Nicaragua: Malawi: IMPACT: IMPACT, Engineers Without Borders volunteering team, works with nonprofits across SLO County to carry on the tradition of thinking globally and acting locally. IMPACT organizes volunteering events that unite EWB members and fellow Cal Poly students with local nonprofits dedicated to the community EWB Cal Poly knows and loves. This quarter we will be fixing up the big IMPACT board to be used next year, so come join us if you love a good art project. ewbimpact@gmail.com to find out when our next workday is. NO MEETING. Tea Time is a time to chat with the president and vice president about anything and everything. It s basically open office hours and we d love to see you! It s every Thursday 11am-12pm. This Weeks Meeting Solidworks Lesson PAAC officers will be teaching Solidworks so we can begin our designs for robotics competitions. Please download Solidworks and bring your laptops to the meeting. How to Download Solidworks for FREE Log into your Cal Poly Portal Under my Apps, click Technical Service Request Click the New Service Request tab Search for Solidworks in the Publisher ASABE Robotics Competition Every year, PAAC builds tabletop robots that accomplish harvesting tasks. The guidelines have not come out for 2019 yet, but information about past competitions can be found bellow!
