It is important that we provide our managers and leaders with tools they need to be successful in their construction careers. Our program is designed to help identify and continue to develop talented leaders within our company to drive our organizational strategy, our competitive strategy; to support our values and successfully secure the future of our organization. It was a very impressive presentation, good discussion, sharing of ideas, and great participation across our teams. Much appreciation to Ken Schexnayder from Travelers who traveled in to facilitate the training and share knowledge on the following topics: Congratula&ons to the impressive and talented 77 employees who successfully completed the program; résumés, matrices, and IDP s will be updated accordingly. 4 P a g e 4 OSHA 30 In an effort to raise our level of safety knowledge and expertise across our leadership team, we partnered with the Central Louisiana Technical and Community College (CLTCC) to facilitate an OSHA 30 certification class for members of our management team. 9 GCC leaders began the course, earning OSHA 30 certifications. From left: Albert Lewis, Greg Sidney, CLTCC Instructor H.A. Nub Parker, Anthony Jordan, Kent Burnaman, Curnest Guillot, Rodney Jones, Greg Reynaud, Shane Carter, and John Paul. Employee Spotlight Kent Burnaman Kent Burnaman has been with GCC since May 1997, and currently serves as Bridge Structure Operations Manager. He and his wife, Stephanie, have a son, Zach, and 2 year old grandson, Brody. Not only is Kent an avid hog hunter and gator wrestler, but an awesome cook, and all around great guy. Kent attending Safety Leadership Development Education. In his spare time, he might be found in the swamps. Kent graciously offered to smoke a couple of hogs for the GCC Alexandria Christmas lunch. 5 P a g e 5 GCC HR Road Show & Employee Apprecia&on In October, 2016, GCC HR Team, Christina Hathorn and Mark Dubea, traveled to all job sites, food in tow, in order to show the Company s appreciation to our workforce. During this time, they also met with employees to educate them on our benefits, upcoming 2017 open enrollment, and provide additional information about Legacy Health & Wellness clinic. Amy Sonnier, GCC Wellness Coach, was also available to share more on our wellness program, Health Tracks. A representative from the Clinic was on hand and offered flu shots for those who where interested. GCC covered the cost of the immunization. Concrete Division Thank you, Christina and Mark, for a job well done! John Hall, NP with Legacy Health & Wellness, sharing health information with our Concrete Crew. According to the U.S. Center for Disease Control & Prevention (CDC), hand injuries account for 1,080,000 emergency department visit by workers per year in the U.S. Dr. Brian Elkins is a board-certified family physician with more than 14 years of experience. Dr. Elkins treats patients of all ages, infants to geriatric. His professional and courteous staff help ensure that patients receive optimal care. John Hall, MHA, FNP, is an Advanced Nurse Practitioner specializing in family health. He joins Dr. Elkins in providing quality, efficient care to Legacy patients. HOURS OF OPERATION Monday, Tuesday, & Thursday: 7am - 4pm Wednesday: 10am - 6 pm Friday: 7am - Noon Legacy Health & Wellness is a primary-care wellness center, with a goal of getting and keeping you healthy. Services include, but are not limited to: Chronic-care management Treatment of minor injuries Pediatric care Sinus infections Immunizations Wellness exams Strep tests Blood work Patients also have access to our wellness coach, Amy Sonnier, who can assist individuals in planning for and maintaining a healthy lifestyle.
