1 2018 New Family and Childbirth Classes The Women s Center at Many classes are offered at both Hospital s HER Center in Albuquerque and Rust Medical Center in Rio Rancho. Visit to sign up. If this is your first baby, we recommend the following classes: PREP FOR BIRTHING (four-week series) BREASTFEEDING BASICS BABY BASICS AND BEYOND FOR DADS ONLY GRANDPARENTS Sign up for three or more classes and get 10% off your total! Comments from class participants: PREP FOR BIRTHING They showed us how to relax and breathe during labor. It was as in-depth as I would have wanted. It was a great and concise session for us. We re really glad we enrolled. BABY BASICS AND BEYOND The instructor was down-to-earth and kept things in perspective. The swaddling/diapering techniques were very helpful. The discussion on pediatric selection and appointments was super helpful, especially with an actual pediatrician coming. BIG BROTHER/SISTER She focused on the big brother and big sister to be, rather than focusing on the parents. She was very educated on explaining things to the kids in a fun, exciting and interesting way. The scavenger hunt and birthday present for the new baby were really great for our kids. FOR DADS ONLY It was very helpful with the instructor being a dad and a nurse. He covered so many subjects like what to expect in delivery, germs, and more. He even included wiping, wrapping diapers and bathing tips. He gave visual instructions on swaddling, which was good. Thank you, I feel more comfortable now. GRANDPARENTS Provided information on safety and car seat installation. She gave a tour of the hospital, was very easy relating to, and friendly. Fabulous class I m so glad I came. (505)
