17 The Department of Education (DOE) established the position of the Campus Security Authority (CSA) in accordance with requirements outlined in the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act. A faculty member may be designated as a UF CSA based on his/her role as a organization advisor. All UF CSAs are reminded of their roles/responsibilities, as well as training requirements on a bi-annual basis during the Spring and Fall semesters. These reminders are sent via correspondence directly to each CSA. The bi-annual training consists of viewing the UF CSA training video that is found on-line at The UF CSA Coordinator ensures all reports received are reviewed to decide if a UF Alert (Emergency Notification or Timely Warning) is required. The UF CSA Coordinator also ensures the incident is noted on the University of Florida s Annual Security and Fire Safety Report (ASFSR) which is submitted to the DOE and made available to the university community by 1 October.
