2 WHAT IS FLEET AND FAMILY READINESS? Fleet and Family Readiness provides high-quality programs for the total Navy family, ranging from childcare, support services, deployment assistance, entertainment, to recreational and leisure activities. Navy Region Northwest Fleet and Family Readiness mission is to enhance and improve the quality of life for our customer. FFR is the first choice for our active duty, family members, retirees and Department of Defense (DoD) civilians. WHAT IS COMMERCIAL SPONSORSHIP? A commercial business is given the opportunity to become part of the Navy Region Northwest Fleet and Family Readiness event or program by paying a monetary and/or in-kind fee in return, the business is given access to the attendees and the commercial potential associated with the event. Commercial Sponsorship is not a donation or gift since it is a business-based exchange to provide help in offsetting costs and enhancing the event. Sponsorship fees are reinvested into Fleet and Family Readiness programs and events. FFR can continue to fulfill its mission in providing the highest quality-of-life programming to our service members, families, retirees and civilians. DEMOGRAPHICS Demographics pulled from 1 Naval Air Station Whidbey Island Naval Air Station Whidbey Island is located in Oak Harbor, WA, on beautiful Whidbey Island. It is part of Island County, which is in the northwest corner of Washington State, 90 miles north of Seattle, within close proximity to the San Juan Islands and the Cascade and Olympic Mountains. NAS Whidbey Island is comprised of two bases five miles apart: the Seaplane Base and the Naval Air Station (also known as Ault Field). 4 NAVAL STATION EVERETT EVENTS & DESCRIPTIONS SPECIAL EVENTS AT JIM CREEK Event Date: January- December 2018 Event Location: Jim Creek Community Recreation Area Estimated Attendance: $500 per event or sponsor the entire year for $6,000 (includes booth at the event) Prize of gift certificates Jim Creek is a Navy Getaways destination which includes an abundance of cabins, campgrounds, RV spaces and lodge. The site hosts monthly special events for Military Members, Retires, Civilian Employees, as well as their families and guests. Each month has a different theme from a Holiday Celebration, Jurassic Adventures, to Mother s Day Brunches; these events cater to a wide range of participants and can offer music, crafts, activities and more. Sponsors may select certain months or all 12 months. ZOMBIE DASH Event Date: October 2017 Event Location: Jim Creek Community Recreation Area Estimated Attendance: 200 $200 (includes booth at the event) Water, healthy snacks and Halloween related prizes Runners complete an obstacle race through wooded trails with the intent of not becoming infected by costumed zombies. The object of the run is to keep your life intact by avoiding zombies along the route. HOLIDAY TREE LIGHTING Event Date: December 7, 2017 Event Location: The Commons Estimated Attendance: 200+ $250 (includes booth at the event) The Holiday Tree Lighting is an annual family-friendly event, to include visit and photos with Santa, children s crafts, music, entertainment, inflatables, food and games. LIBERTY HOLIDAY PARTY Single Service Members Event Date: December 21, 2017 Event Location: The Commons Estimated Attendance: 150 The LIBERTY Holiday Party is a free event for our junior service members, to include entertainment. food, games and prizes. Many single service members are stationed far away from family and friends, so join the MWR staff in bringing people together with holiday cheer!
5 BETTER BODY BOOT CAMP Event Date: January 9 March 6, 2018 Event Location: Seismos Fitness Center Estimated Attendance: 50+ $100 Prizes, gift certificates, water and healthy snacks The annual eight-week lifestyle and weight-management program is designed for beginner to intermediate fitness levels. Fitness professionals help patrons get back into shape in the new year or increase their current fitness level. CATERING EXPO Event Date: March and August 2018 Event Location: The Commons Estimated Attendance: 200+ $250 (includes booth at the event) This bi-annual event highlights our catering department. All eligible patrons are invited to see the banquet and meeting facilities available. In addition, specialty dishes, party trays, hors d oeuvres, desserts and more will be displayed to sample. Attendees will see that The Commons has the perfect venue for weddings, meetings, retirements, birthday parties, reunions and more! ARMY vs. NAVY ICE HOCKEY Event Date: March 3, 2018 Event Location: Xfinity Arena in Everett, WA Estimated Attendance: 40 players with 700+ patrons in attendance T-shirts, healthy snacks, drinks, prizes and gift certificates The 3rd Annual Army vs. Navy Ice Hockey rivalry continues as Sailors and Marines from NRNW and Soldiers from Joint Base Lewis McCord compete in an ice hockey game, hosted by the Everett Silvertips of the Western Hockey League. USS RALPH JOHNSON NEW HOMEPORT INFO FAIR Event Date: April 2018 Event Location: The Commons Estimated Attendance: 300+ $300 (includes booth at the event). A Welcome to the DDG USS Ralph Johnson to NSE, its new homeport! JIM CREEK KIDS FISHING DERBEY Event Date: May 2018 Event Location: Jim Creek Community Recreation Area Estimated Attendance: 500+ This annual event is a great way to kick off the summer season at Jim Creek. Children fish at Twin Lakes to compete in four different trophy categories. There will also be arts and crafts, family games, hay wagon rides, inflatables and more! JIM CREEK FREE FAMILY FUN DAY Event Date: June 2018 Event Location: Jim Creek Community Recreation Area Estimated Attendance: 500+ Families are invited to enjoy all that Jim Creek has to offer! This fun-filled day will have boat, bicycle, disc golf and equipment rentals, the Alpine Tower Ropes Course, inflatables and a BBQ.

HEALTH FAIR Event Date: June 2018 Event Location: Jackson Plaza Estimated Attendance: 300+ $400 Prizes, gift certificates, water and healthy snacks Annual Health and Fitness Fair held outdoors. Presenters from organizations across the base will be providing the latest information on health, wellness, fitness and recreation. Children s activities are incorporated into health fair to educate them on the benefits of a healthy lifestyle. JIM CREEK KIDS DOG SHOW Event Date: July 2018 Event Location: Jim Creek Community Recreation Area Estimated Attendance: 400+ $300 (includes booth at the event) The annual event is a combined program between Community Recreation and Child and Youth Programs. Patrons show off their dogs and complete in various judged competitions, while trying to win Best of Show. The event also hosts stations for dog-related information, a pet parade, petrelated crafts and activities, as well as a demonstration by NSE K9 Unit. SEAFAIR FLEET WEEK PICNIC Event Date: July 29, 2018 Event Location: The Commons Estimated Attendance: 400+ $300 (includes booth at the event) The annual event welcomes the Seafair visiting ships and Sailors to Naval Station Everett. Visiting ships stop by for the day before joining the Seattle Seafair activities. The MWR staff provides an afternoon/ event BBQ, music and games with locally stationed Sailors joining the festivities as well. JIM CREEK SUMMER SPLASHDOWN AND COLOR RUN Event Date: August 2018 Event Location: Jim Creek Community Recreation Area Estimated Attendance: 600+ Prizes, gift certificates, healthy snacks and drinks This annual event combines a 1-mile and 5K Color Run with one of the most enjoyable events of the summer. PARTY IN THE PLAZA Event Date: August 16, 2018 Event Location: Jackson Plaza Estimated Attendance: 500+ $300 (includes booth at the event) Party in the Plaza is Naval Station Everett s summer picnic, allowing the entire base the opportunity to attend. There is a Kids Fun Run, inflatables, door prizes, food and games. POW/MIA 5K REMEMBRANCE RUN Event Date: September 2018 Event Location: Naval Station Everett Estimated Attendance: 150+ $100 (includes booth at the event) Healthy snacks and water Patriotism runs high at this annual 5K run/walk honoring our fallen or missing service members. JOB FAIRS Event Date: March 14, April 11, July 25 and October 15, 2018 Event Location: Smokey Point/ Armed Forces Reserve Center Estimated Attendance: at each fair $125 per fair or $500 for all four events Job Fairs are focused on connecting hiring agencies with Active Duty, Retirees and Veterans. RETIRED ACTIVITIES SEMINAR Retirees Event Date: May 12, 2018 Event Location: The Commons Estimated Attendance: 300+ $300 (includes booth at the event) This annual seminar focuses on changes that affect the Retiree. The event has booths and formal briefings with recognition for the volunteers that work throughout the year. OMBUDSMAN APPRECIATION DINNER Family Members of Active Duty and Command Leadership Event Date: September 20, 2018 Event Location: Grand Vista Ballroom Estimated Attendance: 75+ A night of appreciation to thank our Ombudsmen and Command Representatives for volunteering to support our Navy Families. FFSC ARE YOU READY? RADIOACTIVE NEW YEAR S EVE / Event Date: December 31, 2017 Event Location: Bremerton Recreation Center Estimated Attendance: 300+ This annual event s theme is Radioactive New Year s Eve Party. The event will consist of neon radioactive-themed bowling, a neon cake walk, various Mad-Scientistthemed activities and crafts. WHO WANTS TO BE A MILLIONAIRE? /Single Service Members Event Date: February 27, 2018 Event Location: Bangor Recreation Center A partnership with Fleet and Family Support Center supporting the annual Navy program Military Saves. The purpose of this event is to educate the military community members on how to effectively manage their money. The event will feature financial questions in the format of Who Wants to be a Millionaire? Correct answers will win prizes. DR. SEUSS BIRTHDAY PARTY Event Date: March 2, 2018 Event Location: Bremerton Recreation Center Estimated Attendance: $250 (includes booth at the event) Prizes, gift certificates or kids books. March 2nd is Dr. Seuss Birthday! This annual event celebrates the life and work of Dr. Seuss, as well as his contributions to childhood literacy. This event features crafts and games, along with an appearance by The Cat in the Hat. MWR EGGSPLOSION Event Date: March 24, 2018 Event Location: Trident Lakes Recreation Area Estimated Attendance: 1,300+ $1,000 (includes booth at the event) The 3rd Annual Easter Egg Hunt at NBK s Trident Lakes Recreation area. The event features ageappropriate fields, covered with plastic eggs that contain, candy and stickers, bounce houses and a visit with the Easter Bunny.
9 FAMILY FISHING DERBY Event Date: June 23-24, 2018 Event Location: Trident Lakes Estimated Attendance: 500+ Annual fishing derby held at Bangor s Trident Lakes Recreation Area. The event consists of two fishing areas and potable ponds. Prizes are given out every hour for the largest fish caught in each area. In addition, the event features bounce houses, a zip line, food, climbing wall, face painter and balloon artists. GREAT NAVY CAMPOUT / Event Date: June 23-24, 2018 Event Location: Trident Lakes Estimated Attendance: 125+ Join us for MWR s Great Navy Campout! The event allows families the opportunity to enjoy camping at our Trident Lakes Recreation Area. Patrons are taught how to set up a campsite, try their hand at camp cooking, fishing, hiking, crafts and a movie. 1ST SUMMER JAM Single Service Members Event Date: August 2018 Event Location: Bremerton Fleet Recreation Center Estimated Attendance: The Summer Jam is a lunchtime event that targets Single Active Duty Military Members. The event will consist of a BBQ lunch with activities to include a dunk tank, inflatables, slip and slide, yard games, rock wall and a band. The Daddy Boot Camp class will cover such topics as: getting ready for your baby, bonding with your newborn, crying-how much is too much and ways to sooth your baby, baby care including feeding, bathing, diaper changing and ways to support Mom. Prizes, gift certificates and light refreshments The Command Family Advocacy Representative (CFAR) Breakfast is to show appreciation to the Active Duty Members who provide outstanding support to the Family Advocacy Program, helping with problems of both spouse and child abuse. This breakfast not only acknowledges their valuable service, but also provides an opportunity for advanced training. EXCEPTIONAL FAMILY MEMBER PROGRAM & INDIVIDUAL AUGMENTEE BOWLING WITH SANTA Event Date: December 14, 2017 Event Location: Bangor Olympic Lanes Estimated Attendance: 75+ Prizes, food and beverages This annual event is an opportunity for EFMP and IA families to join Santa for bowling, open gifts, have fun and enjoy time together. TEEN DATING VIOLENCE AWARENESS MONTH Family Members Event Date: February 27, 2018 Event Location: Bangor Teen Center Estimated Attendance: 35+ $100 (includes booth at the event) Snacks, prizes and gift certificates FFSC provides awareness and education to teens in February, which is National Teen Dating Violence Awareness Month. The event focuses on recognizing and building healthy relationships and resources to stop violence. MILITARY SAVES CAMPAIGN Event Date: February 26-March 2, 2018 Event Location: Galley, LIBERTY Centers, Fleet & Family Support Centers and Child Development Centers Estimated Attendance: 200+ $400 (includes booth at the event) Prizes and gift cards Military Saves is a national campaign to persuade, motivate and encourage military families to save money every month, and to convince leaders and organizations to be aggressive in promoting automatic savings, the FFSC hosts Children s Financial Carnival at the CDCs where they earn money for chores and can buy a prize at the store. Also the FFSC plays PLINKO at the Galley, where sailors answer a financial question and at LIBERTY where Service Members learn more about financial investments and savings. SAPR UNIT VICTIM ADVOCATE APPRECIATION Single Service Members Event Date: April 2018 Event Location: Bangor Chapel and Social Hall Estimated Attendance: 200+ $250 (includes booth at the event) Food, beverages and SAPR Challenge Coins The SAPR Victim Advocate Appreciation ceremony is an event to acknowledge the combined efforts of the approximately 200 volunteer victim advocates at NBK tenant commands, who support approximately 15,000 Sailors and Marines. SPRING JOB FAIR Event Date: April 13, 2018 Event Location: Kitsap County Fair Grounds Estimated Attendance: 250+ $250 (includes booth at the event) Light refreshments The Spring Job Fair is an event that brings Military Members and their families with together potential employers.
11 SEXUAL ASSAULT PREVENTION AND RESPONSE CHALLENGE /Command Leadership Event Date: April 27, 2018 Event Location: Bangor, Outdoor Brick Courtyard Estimated Attendance: 2,000+ Water and food The SAPR Challenge: You can t spell challenge without change. Twelve challenges are completed by each participant to increase awareness and improve understanding of sexual assault. CRITICAL MIDDLE SUMMIT Active Duty from Various Tenant Commands Event Date: April 2018 Event Location: Bangor Plaza $100 (includes booth at the event) Food and beverages An opportunity for first-time line leaders (E5-E7) to learn tools to address sexual assault. We will have survivors share their experiences. EXCEPTIONAL FAMILY MEMBER PROGRAM & INDIVIDUAL AUGMENTEE PICNIC Event Date: June 28, 2018 Event Location: Camp Mckean Estimated Attendance: 75+ Prizes, food and beverages This annual event is an opportunity for EFMP and IA families to join together for a picnic, bouncy houses and games, and to enjoy time together. 12 NAVAL AIR STATION WHIDBEY ISLAND EVENTS & DESCRIPTIONS JAZZ AND WINE FESTIVAL Event Date: TBD Event Location: Naval Air Station Whidbey Island Estimated Attendance: 1,000+ $1,000 (includes booth at the event) Wine and gift certificates The Jazz and Wine Festival offers a great way to enjoy the season, while supporting local arts groups. Enjoy the fruit of Western Washington vineyards, fine food and an array of performers. FAMILY HARVEST FEST/TRUNK OR TREAT Event Date: October 28, 2017 Event Location: Convergence Zone and Auto Skills Center Estimated Attendance: 150+ Candy, refreshments and gift certificates Enjoy face painting, a costume parade, costume contest, prizes, craft station and free bowling for kids during the events. Then, hop on a ride to the Auto Skills Center for a Command Sponsored Trunk or Treat. Enjoy trunk or treating and vote for your favorite themed vehicle. MONTH OF THE MILITARY FAMILY Event Date: November 2017 Event Location: Convergence Zone Candy and light refreshments Month of the Military Family Show This family-friendly event will showcase a fun, interactive juggling comedy show that is sure to dazzle and amaze children and parents alike. HOLIDAY TREE LIGHTING Event Date: December 2017 Event Location: Convergence Zone Estimated Attendance: 300+ Prizes, gift certificates and refreshments Holiday Tree Lighting This annual event for families includes an arrival from Ole Saint Nick. He lights our holiday tree with the help from children, and it magically lights up, as well as begins to snow inside. Families can enjoy caricatures, balloon artists, face painters, horsedrawn carriage rides, children s crafts and refreshments.
13 ARMY VS. NAVY GAME Event Date: December 8, 2017 Event Location: Naval Air Station Whidbey Island Estimated Attendance: 500+ Healthy snacks, gift certificates, T-shirts, towels and water bottles Navy Region Northwest and Joint Base Lewis-McCord play an annual flag football game in conjunction with the Annual Army vs. Navy College Game Day. The event consists of a pep rally and presentation before game day, with both teams present. Each team will have representatives from their chain of command to help in the presentation of the winning team. Each player will be recognized prior to the beginning of the game. NEW YEAR S EVE CELEBRATION / Event Date: December 31, 2017 Event Location: Convergence Zone Estimated Attendance: 200+ $250 (includes booth at the event) Prizes Our New Year s Eve Celebration includes contests, door prizes, hats, noise makers, a DJ, photo booth, a balloon drop and more, all for our patrons in attendance. POLAR BEAR & PENGUIN PLUNGE Event Date: January 1, 2018 Event Location: Rocky Point and Can Do Inn Stickers, stuffed animals and temporary tattoos New Year s Day Polar Bear Plunge with a Penguin Plunge for the kids! EASTER EGG HUNT Event Date: March 31, 2018 Event Location: Seaplane Base Estimated Attendance: 300+ Prizes, Easter candy, gift certificates and Easter crafts The event will include an egg hunt, bounce houses, climbing wall, crafting, pony rides, petting zoo, face painters and balloon twisters. MONTH OF THE MILITARY CHILD EVENT-SCIENCE ON WHEELS EVENT Event Date: April 4, 2018 Event Location: Convergence Zone Prizes This event will include a science show from the Pacific Science Center. This supercool science show is a fun, educational and entertaining event where children can discover the fun of science. GREAT NAVY CAMPOUT Event Date: June 15-16, 2018 Event Location: Cliffside RV Park Prizes, food and beverages Join us for MWR s Great Navy Campout! The event allows families the opportunity to enjoy camping at our Cliffside RV Park. Patrons are taught how to set up a campsite, try their hand at camp cooking, hiking, crafts and a movie.

SUMMER BARRACKS BASH Single Service Members Event Date: June 21, 2018 Event Location: UH Pavillion Prizes, food and beverages The summer welcoming party for Sailors that live in the barracks on base. There will be free food, music, games and prizes at this event. OPEN HOUSE FLIGHT LINE 5K and the Public Event Date: June 23, 2018 Event Location: NASWI Flight Line Estimated Attendance: 300+ Water and healthy snacks Our annual Open House 5K Walk/Run event for the Military and civilian communities. This is our only event where the gates are open to the public, providiting a great sense of community where people of all ages can come together for a fun, family- friendly event. STRONG FAMILIES INITIATIVE Event Date: July 1, 2018 September 30, 2018 Event Location: Naval Air Station Whidbey Island This event will provide families with an initiative to strengthen their families by doing things together. Activities could include Health Habits, Social Awareness, Communication, Money Management, and social actives (time spent together outdoors). Families will participate in Strong Family activities and post photos on the official Strong Families Facebook page. This is a great way to also highlight events, trainings, classes and programs that can help promote strong families.
