As a major U.S. federal contractor, URS provides critical support to the Departments of Defense and Homeland Security, the Intelligence Community, the Department of Energy, NASA, and other federal agencies. Our services range from planning and design through construction and operations and maintenance to decommissioning and closure. For example, as part of our operations and maintenance services for specialized government installations, URS provides mission-focused institutional support to the research and daily operations of NASA s facilities at Kennedy Space Center and Marshall Space Flight Center. We also manage operations at the DOD s National Radar Cross-Section Test Facility. URS modernizes weapons systems, refurbishes military vehicles and aircraft, trains pilots and manages military and government facilities. In addition, we plan, design and construct hangars, and government buildings, provide logistics support for military operations and help decommission former bases for redevelopment. The Company also is a leader in global threat reduction programs, which eliminate nuclear, chemical, biological and conventional weapons around the world. Each year their efforts represent approximately 75% of all veterans hired. Hot Jobs announcements are distributed daily to over 1,000 military and veteran contacts CONUS and OCONUS. Jobs as #5 overall but #1 in Defense for their Top 100 Military Friendly Employer list for 2012 In 2011 URS was voted one of the Most Valuable Employers (MVE) for Military. This award was open to all U.S.-based companies. The finalists were selected based on surveys in which employers outlined their 2011 recruiting, training and retention plans that best serve military service members and veterans. This award and recognition is the result of continued collaboration efforts and commitment to our support and hiring of veterans across the entire Federal Services business. The URS website includes a military specific section on the company website. Our Recruiting Team attends numerous Military job fairs, visits Military Transition Offices and the Department of Labor Local Veteran Employment Representatives (LVER) nationwide. We conduct extensive sourcing of candidates on over 15 military targeted websites. Our recruiting team regularly sources candidates from the following military focused websites: We are a member of Direct Employers which automatically posts our jobs to numerous state and national job banks and military related websites. Our Lakehurst, NJ office works regularly with the Transition Director at the Joint Base for McGuire AFB, Lakehurst and Fort Dix to provide information on upcoming job opportunities. We partner with the American Military University to post jobs and attend career fairs. We have created an extensive active network of military veterans who are considering career opportunities within our company or refer us to other skilled veterans. We have created a relationship with the NAS Lemoore Family Employment Readiness Group, which assists exiting veterans in the TAP (Transition Assistance Program). URS is named as the primary for all Lemoore Navy Veterans for assistance in job placement once leaving their military service. The URS Federal Services HR Department holds weekly conference calls with our HR & Recruiting Staff (100+) to focus on programs, initiatives, training, etc. We have frequently covered topics related to our military partnerships and initiatives.

Examples include: Some of these tools are: o job specific mentorship programs, oleadership training, ocoaching and support programs, operformance management reviews o UMCDF conducted a Veterans Day ceremony under the US Flag. Depot Commander LTC Perkins and Plant Manager, Bob Dikeman Retired Lt. Commander US Navy gave presentation followed with presentations of plaques to recently return UMCDF veterans. The ceremony recognized all veterans but the plaques were reserved for recent retuning veterans. URS uses an extensive employee recognition award program as a tool to retain talented employees including military veterans. URS has created an extensive Internal Mobility Program to help retain talented employees, such as military veteran employees, whose existing contracts are closing. This program gives internal employees, whose current assignment may be ending, first consideration for other opportunities within the company. Retention programs in place in support of employees with military experience; this includes (but is not limited to) programs or resources that supporting veterans and their families, both internal to your organization and external: Members of our Human Resources and Talent Acquisition teams are working closely with current employees whose work assignments are nearing an end, including those with military experience, find other internal career opportunities. In October 2011, a new Onboarding process was implemented to help new employees become acclimated to their new roles and our company. This program highlights the experience requirements for positions within the company and each manager is asked to assign a Peer Coach to every new hire. This will benefit our employees with military experience because they will be matched to other members who have similar work backgrounds.

We have goals to meet in all of our federal contracts. In 2011 URS was listed as one of the 10 Best U.S. Corporations for Veteran-Owned Businesses by the National Veteran-Owned Business Association. This distinction is given to corporations that impressively tap into the nation s over three million veteran-owned businesses. 15 URS sponsors and is associated with several military, veterans and disabled veterans outreach programs such as Adopt-A-Platoon, Disabled Veterans Association, Operation Backpack, Veterans of Foreign Wars and many more. Additional examples include: Holiday Stockings for the Troops: For the 2011 Holiday Season, URS Federal Services donated 1,640 stocking for two units in Afghanistan. We had participation from all four of our business units. Several offices have established partnership with the Wounded Warriors program. A member of our Huntsville, AL office works closely with Wounded Warriors through Semper Fi and has many contacts that he targets to try to find jobs for these veterans. Our Aberdeen, MD office is working with military authorities at the Aberdeen Proving Ground (APG), MD and the local chapter of the Association of the United States Army to implement the APG Wounded Warrior Program. This is an innovative career building opportunity for disabled veterans. URS made a donation to support the wounded or ill troops and their families at Walter Reed Army Medical Center. URS made a donation to the Yellow Ribbon Fund. The Maryland Governor s office has requested URS involvement in the hiring of disabled veterans in our area. URS made a donation to support the Alfred A. Cunningham Squadron of the Marine Corps Aviation Association (MCAA) charity golf tournament aboard Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point. This event raised $7,000 for the Injured Marine Semper Fi Fund. URS is a corporate sponsor of the AUSA-APG golf tournament, which raises funds to benefit the Wounded Warrior Program. Our Vice President of Talent Acquisition and Talent Development, Marian Hyder, attended the fourth annual Military Spouse of the Year luncheon on May 5, This luncheon honors military spouses for their support from the Army, Marine Corps, Navy, Air Force and Coast Guard. Our Vice President of Talent Development, Marian Hyder, attended the House Committee on Veterans Affairs Recruiting Summit on Capitol Hill in September. Our Vice President, Talent Management, Marian Hyder serves on the G.I. Jobs Editorial Review Board. On May 26, 2011 a member of our Indiana team participated in a Wounded Warrior event sponsored by the National Corvette Museum (NCM) in Bowling Green, KY. Approximately 80 wounded warriors were escorted in Corvettes to tour the NCM and the assembly plant. The Army Wounded Warrior Program (AW2) is the official U.S. Army program that assists and advocates for severely wounded, ill and injured solders, veterans and their families. URS was a platinum sponsor of the Crane Cycle Fest on May 21, 2011 which supported the National Ride 2 Recovery. This was a large event with approximately 400 participants and the proceeds from this event went directly to wounded veterans. A member of our Stafford, Virginia office is a key volunteer for a non-profit, non-partisan 501c (3) organization called Homes for Our Troops (HFOT). HFOT is an organization that builds specially adapted homes for our service members who ve returned home with serious disabilities and injuries while fighting in Iraq and Afghanistan. The organization builds these homes at no cost to the veterans and relies on community donations and support. URS Federal Services was a Premier Sponsor for the 1st Annual NVHS Stand Down to provide aid and support to Homeless Veterans. One of our Group level Recruiting Teams was recognized for efforts to recruit, hire and retain veterans, reservist and guard members. Awarded by ESC on September 2011 in Jacksonville, NC. Our Huntsville, AL office participated in the Heroes Week for 64 Wounded Warriors. On October 18, one of our offices received the Patriot Employer award from the Office of the Secretary of Defense for the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve. Sponsored an employee who participated in the US Marine Corps Marathon in October.
