1 Defense Strategies Institute professional educational forum: 6 th Military Tactical Communications Summit ~Delivering Information Superiority to the Tactical Edge~ September 12-13, 2017 Mary M. Gates Learning Center, Alexandria, VA

2 The 2017 Tactical Communications Summit will focus on providing network capability and enhanced C4ISR to the tactical edge in support of the Warfighter. The Summit will seek to enhance reliable access to data, voice, and video anytime to support Commanders situational awareness and C2 capabilities. Program Design & Goal: Today s Service Members operate across a multitude of austere, expeditionary environments that severely limit their ability to effectively communicate critical information with partners in real time. Warfighters are dependent upon the Commanders ability to communicate from Mission Command to the Tactical Edge in order to maintain critical operational dominance. Commanders rely heavily on the development and sustainment of robust communication and information systems that provide advanced battlefield situational awareness. This Summit will examine the technology, policy and strategy that facilitate agile and resilient networks in expeditionary environments in support of critical mission success. DSI s team specializes in the extensive research and development of our Summits' content and focus areas, and we will assemble the most respected minds in networking and communications technology as well as key policy-makers across military and civilian offices. Our non-partisan approach allows us to reach across all services and organizations to bring together a truly holistic group of decision makers and solution providers. DSI s Symposium directly supports DoD priorities by providing a conduit for officials to efficiently reach audiences outside of their respective offices that directly impact their department's mission success, at no charge to the government, and in an efficient expenditure of time. Operating Guidelines: DSI s Symposium will provide a forum to address and improve internal and external initiatives, meet with and hear from partner organizations, disseminate vital capability requirements to industry, increase visibility within the larger community, and generally support their mission. * The Summit is open and complimentary to all DoD and Federal employees and is considered an educational and training forum. (Industry and academia members are charged a fee of attendance) Summit is CLOSED TO PRESS / NO RECORDINGS General Target Audience: Specific topics to be discussed include: Solution providers, Government Agencies and DoD Commands, as well as Academia interested in supporting advanced networking for the Armed Services in expeditionary environments. Attendees will hear from DoD and Service leads on tactical networking policies, requirements, R&D, as well as near and long term goals for the DoD Enterprise. - Delivering Information Superiority to the Joint Warfighter - Addressing Future U.S. Military SATCOM Needs for Future Operations in Contested Environments - Network Modernization and Standardization Efforts across the Services - Developing Mobile Technology Capabilities to Provide Greater Situational Awareness in Expeditionary Environments - Providing Mission Command Greater Situational Awareness at the Tactical Edge - JIE and Impact on the Tactical Edge - RDT&E in Support of Enhanced Communication and Network Architectures - Integrating COMSATCOM Solutions to Supplement DoD Communication Capabilities Speakers Noted as Invited Are Not Confirmed and Topics Subject to Edits
