1 Defense Strategies Institute professional educational forum: 6 th Annual Joint Civil & DoD CBRN Symposium ~ Advancing a Government Wide Approach to CBRN Defense, Readiness & Response ~ March 5-6, 2018 Mary M. Gates Learning Center, Alexandria, VA
2 Program Design & Goal: The 2018 Joint Civil & DoD CBRN Symposium will provide a forum for members of the DoD, Federal Government, Private Industry, Academia, and other relevant stakeholders to discuss the latest updates from key organizations involved in advancing a Government wide approach to advancing CBRN defense, preparedness, readiness and response. Our invited speakers will outline their high level organizational initiatives, to include technological updates and the supporting RDT&E for equipping multi-mission forces with CBRNE defense equipment to aid first responders, and state and local governments in response to and recovery from the effects of a CBRN incident. This Symposium will provide valuable information on the efforts and strategies to build partnerships within the CBRN community, and provide stakeholders with key viewpoints on future capabilities and requirements for the CBRN defense community. DSI s team specializes in the extensive research and development of our Symposiums content and focus areas, and we will assemble the most respected minds in the CBRN defense community from operational leaders, intelligence providers, key policy-makers, as well as solution providers from Industry and Academia. Our non-partisan approach allows us to reach across all involved organizations bring together a truly holistic group of decision makers and solution providers. Operating Guidelines: DSI s Summit directly supports DoD & DoD CBRN priorities by providing a conduit for officials to efficiently reach audiences outside of their respective offices that directly impact their Department s or Agency s mission success, at no charge to the Government, and in an efficient expenditure of time. DSI s Summit will provide a forum to address and improve internal and external initiatives, meet with and hear from partner organizations, disseminate vital capability requirements to industry, increase visibility within the larger community, and generally support their mission. The Summit is open and complimentary to all DoD and Federal employees and is considered an educational and training forum. Summit is CLOSED TO PRESS / NO RECORDINGS General Target Audience: DoD and Civilian Government, private sector industry, academia, and nonprofit stakeholders involved in the research, development, future capabilities planning, and acquisition of capabilities that support advanced CBRN defense, readiness, and technology development. Specific topics to be discussed include: - Maintaining Core Competencies to Rapidly Develop, Test and Field Defense CBRN Capabilities - Enabling Real Time, Informed Decision Making at Multiple Levels of Leadership - Improving CBRN Readiness and Response Capabilities - Technology Supporting Enhanced Warfighter Protection from CBRN Threats - Driving Medical Countermeasures Development to Limit Adverse Health Effects of CBRN Incidents - Managing and Maintaining Biosurveillance Systems - R&D Supporting Advanced Threat Decontamination - Developing and Identifying Strategies for Improved First Responder CBRN Response
