2 Defense CUSTOM SOLUTIONS Logistics and Materiel Readiness Summit Today s armed services and defense agencies are faced with continued and globally dispersed operations. The necessity for materiel readiness and reliable logistics support are critical to maintaining the effectiveness and safety of our Armed Forces. Across the Logistics community the challenge exists to sustain forward operating Commands and Organizations with limited resources. Policy leaders are working diligently to create strategies that address the warfighter s needs and tasking Defense Support Agencies to do more with less. Logistics has evolved significantly since initial operations began in Iraq and Afghanistan. Efficient use of resources and process improvement technologies are no longer simply prudent, but necessary for continued sustainment. Everything from the precise mobility of personnel and materiel to extended asset tracking at forward bases must be leveraged to meet the needs of the Department. DSI s Defense Logistics and Materiel Readiness Summit benefits: The Wounded Warrior Project (a 501c3 nonprofit organization that provides services and programs to severely injured service members) visit: -ORwww.woundedwarriorproject.org for more information About the Venue In the heart of historic Old Town Alexandria, Virginia, just minutes from Ronald Reagan National Airport and downtown Washington, DC, the Mary M.
