First cohort started in Denmark in August Partners: Aarhus University, Danish School of Media and Journalism (Denmark) (Lead institution), University of Amsterdam (the Netherlands), Swansea University, City University (London), University of Hamburg (Germany) Erasmus Mundus MSc in Sustainable Aquaculture Applied 31 May 2005 but was unsuccessful. Partners: University of Stirling (lead), University of Aalborg (Denmark), University of Thessaly (Greece), Alexander Technological Educational Institute of Thessaloniki (Greece), Polytechnic University of Valencia (Spain), University of La Laguna (Spain), University of Debrecen (Hungary)

3 Erasmus Mundus I Two-year MSc in Computational Mechanics See Applied 31 May 2005 for an 18 month 90 ECTS programme. Programme rejected and reapplied May 2006 with a 2 year 120 ECTS programme which was successful. First cohort started in September 2007 Partners: Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (Barcelona, Spain) (Lead), Swansea University, École Centrale de Nantes (France) and Universität Stuttgart (Germany)..

4 Erasmus Mundus II Erasmus Mundus Journalism - Two-year MA in Journalism, Media and Globalisation See Applied for second lot of funding in April The application was unsuccessful and the programme ran for a year without funding. The Consortium was successful in its application the following year. On re-application 3 new partners were added, namely: University of Technology (Sydney), Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile and the University of California, Berkeley (USA) Two-year MSc in Computational Mechanics See Applied for second lot of funding in This application was unsuccessful but they re-applied the following year and were successful. On reapplication Tsinghua University was added as an additional partner.

5 Erasmus Mundus II cont. Erasmus Mundus MSc in Applied Genetics Applied 2012 but was unsuccessful. Partners: University of Oviedo, Spain (Coordinating institution), University of Bremen, Germany, University of Aberystwyth, University of Thessaloniki, Greece Erasmus Mundus Masters programme in Desalination and Water Treatment Technologies (DeWaTT). Applied 2014 but was unsuccessful. Partners: Univerisidad de Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (ULPGC) Spain, Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB), Spain, Università degli Studi de Pavia (UPV), Italy, University of Thessaly (UTH), Greece

Reapplied in 2011 with 8 partners. 7 Erasmus Mundus III Joint Master Degrees the EMJMD MA in Sports Ethics and Integrity (MAiSI) See Applied 2015 but was unsuccessful. Reapplied in February 2016 and was successful. First cohort due to start in Swansea in September Swansea University is Coordinator/ Lead, partners include Katholieke Universiteit Leuven, Belgium; Charles University, Prague; Johannes Gutenberg-Universität Mainz, Germany; University Pompeu Fabra, Barcelona; University of Peloponnese, Greece Erasmus Mundus Journalism - Two-year MA in Journalism, Media and Globalisation Reapplied in 2016 and was successful in securing third tranche of funding.
