2 EM#Smart 2 Program EM<Smart 2 Program is a Erasmus Mundus project funded by EACEA (European Union Agency) that offers scholarships for academic exchange in the following modalities: Undergraduates(from 4 to 10 months) PhD Sandwich (10 months) Double degree/cotutelle PhD (up to 24 months) Post#doc (10 months) Academic or administrative Staff (from 1 to 3 months) In total, it is expected to allow 144 Brazilian nationals to study or to develop their research in Europe: 61 Undergraduates 58 PhD students 5 Postdocs 20 Staff 2

3 EM#Smart 2 Goal GOAL The EM<Smart 2 # SmartCities & SmartGrids for Sustainable Development, is a project that aims to contribute to the conception of tools and technologies that will help regions in Brazil and in Europe to ensure social, economic and environmental development of urban ecosystems. 3

7 EM#Smart 2 Scholarships The scholarship value depends on the modalityof the exchange: 1000 /months for Undergraduates 1500 /month for PhDs 1800 /month for post#docs 2500 /month for staff The program ensures for all selected candidates: Visa expenses Travel expenses Internationalinsurance for the whole period of exchange Notuition fees at the host HEI Three different callsfor applications will be organized: 1 st Cohort: February 9 th to April 10 th 2015 Motilities starting before January nd Cohort: August 3 rd to September 30 th 2015 Motilities starting before January rd Cohort: August 1 st to September 30 th 2016 Motilities starting before June

Pre#Requirements: Be a Brazilian national residing in Brazil Have not live in any eligible country for more than 12 months during the last 5 years Undergraduate Mobility: Be a student in one of the Brazilian partners PhD mobility: Be registered as PhD or be in the last semester of a Mestrado Program There is no requirement to be linked to one of the Brazilian Partners Post#doc & Staff Have a Scientific/Academic project to develop in one of the European Partners 9
