3 Event Overview The 12th Turkish International Oil & Gas Conference (TUROGE) took place on April 2013 at the Sheraton Hotel in Ankara, Turkey. The Minister of Energy and Natural Resources to the Republic of Turkey, Taner Yıldız, presented a welcome address on how there are current domestic projects which could supply gas to meet the needs of the European Union. The two day event attracted Turkish and international oil and gas industry professionals, with 47 speakers presenting to 519 attendees from 15 countries. 3

4 Conference Day one commenced with discussions on the global energy outlook with keynote presentations from Sergiy Korsunsky, Ambassador of Ukraine to the Republic of Turkey on recent developments of regional supply and transit; along with János Hóvári, Ambassador, Embassy of Hungary to the Republic of Turkey who analysed the role of Turkey in Europe's energy security. Other high-profiled oil and gas leaders who provided industry and project updates included: Bud Fackrell, President, BP Turkey Serkan Hotoglu, Managing Director, OMV Memet Ali Kaya, Managing Director, Strategy Department, TPAO Samir Kerimli, First Vice President, SOCAR Turkey Plus many others Reha Muratoğlu, Head of Transit Petroleum Pipelines Department, Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources to the Republic of Turkey, also gave a keynote presentation on the national gas transit. 4

5 Conference Day two began with conversations on sources of alternative supplies with a focus on the East Mediterranean and Iraq. Ambassador Michael Lotem, Special Envoy for Energy, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, State of Israel and Ergün Olgun, Former Undersecretary, Presidency of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus provided updates from their respective regions. Selami Incedalci, General Manager, General Directorate of Petroleum Affairs gave a keynote presentation as part of a session on domestic exploration and production activities. BOTAŞ, Turkish Association of Petroleum Geologists and Petform also participated in this session.
