5 Report to IEEE Winnipeg Section Dave Kemp, ICF VP - Grants April 20, 2015 Thank you for the opportunity to present an ICF overview at the January 2015 Section AGM. The ICF Board is pleased to announce a 2015 Special Grant to the University of Manitoba in the amount of $1,500 for their T-SAT3 satellite project. In 2011 the Foundation awarded a similar grant to UoM for $4,500. The University of Manitoba recently received McNaughton Learning Resource Center upgrades as recently as 2014 and Grants, prizes and scholarships approved at the April 15, 2015 Board meeting include the following: a) five IEEE Canadian Foundation Scholarships at $5,000 each b) seven ICF Special Grants including the aforementioned UoM grant. c) the IEEE Canada Power Quality Scholarship d) the IEEE Canada Women In Engineering Prize e) an IEEE Canada Vehicular Technologies Travel Grant Details of upcoming opportunities are at: ICF home page How You Can Help Your help is needed and appreciated: a) make a personal (tax deductable) donation, any size - one-time or continuing, personal or corporate b) fund an award (scholarship, grant, prize, medal) c) promote giving within the Section d) publicize the ICF program of philanthropy (in Sections, Chapters, Groups, Branches) e) have an ICF Member assist/speak ICF at scholarship and other award presentations I welcome your inquiries.
