4 Who should apply? Students who wish to be considered for entrance scholarships based on other criteria, such as community service, volunteer experience, academic achievements, etc need to apply for the online entrance scholarship application between February 01 and May 01. Please note students still need to meet the minimum 85% admission average to be eligible for any entrance scholarships. * By submitting the online entrance application, students are not automatically considered for GPA based scholarships. If students wish to be considered for scholarships based on marks alone, they will need to self-report ( ) their grade 12 marks by March 31 st. How do students apply for the online entrance scholarship application? Students need to be admitted to UVic and have a NetLink ID ( ) to sign into the application. Students can either visit our website ( ) for general information regarding entrance scholarships and a hyperlink to the application, or they can go directly to the application - Where applicable any required supporting documentation needs to be sent to Student Awards & Financial Aid by May 01. 5 HOW TO ACCESS THE APPLICATION Students are directed to to sign into the application. They will need to have a NetLink ID ( to access the application. Page 4
6 Once students sign they will need to click the link View and apply for awards (scholarships and bursaries) to access the entrance online application. At this time the bursary application will not be open. Page 5
7 On the Student Awards & Financial Aid page students can apply for either the Canadian secondary school or Canadian transfer application, make modifications to their application, and view the status of the awards for which they have applied. Page 6
8 APPLY FOR AWARDS (SCHOLARSHIPS AND BURSARIES) If a student clicks on Apply for awards (scholarships and bursaries) they will then need to choose the year and period they will be entering UVic. a Page 7

Please note if students choose the I do NOT agree with the above statement. I understand that I may not be eligible for all awards they will not be considered for any scholarships that are donor based, as we release the names of the recipients to the donors. Page 39
41 APPLY FOR AWARDS (SCHOLARSHIPS AND BURSARIES) STEP 5: REVIEW YOUR APPLICATION Students must Review this page and mark this section complete to submit their application. Page 40
42 OPTIONS AFTER SUBMITTING THE APPLICATION: Once students have completed the online application and submitted it, they can still View and Modify their application until the May 01 st deadline using the same website ( If students would like to see the status of the awards for which they have applied, they will need to click on View the status of your awards, which is on the main page of the Student Awards & Financial Aid tab. 43 VIEW THE STATUS OF YOUR AWARDS This section lists all the awards for which the student has applied. There are three statuses the award can be in: applied, in-process, or not awarded. This page will also let students know which of the awards that they applied for require additional documentation (see page 39). Page 42
44 VIEW THE STATUS OF YOUR AWARDS If students click the Additional Requirements beside the award, it will show them exactly what they are missing for that particular award. Students need to send in any additional documentation (reference letters, volunteer experience, etc...) to Student Awards & Financial Aid by May 01st. Once we have received the additional requirements the status will change to complete. Page 43
45 HOW DO STUDENTS ACCEPT THEIR AWARDS? Students will be directed to to accept their offer of scholarship. To accept their awards students will need a Netlink ID to access the sign in page ( Once signed in click on the View the status of your awards on the main page of the Student Awards & Financial Aid tab (see page 4 for picture). Please note a NetLink ID is not needed to decline an award. If a student does not accept the scholarship offer by June 30th, it will automatically be declined. Students will need to go to this site to accept both the GPA based scholarships and scholarships from the online entrance scholarship application.
