2 2 Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) December 20, 2012 Award: $1,000 or more Eligibility: The program is open to graduating high school seniors who are legal residents of the United States; will attend a two-or four- year college or university, less than 21 years of age, have a minimum 2.7 GPA, and reside within the geographic boundaries of Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino or Ventura counties. Students may apply for one of four different types of scholarships: RMHC/Scholars - All students are eligible to apply regardless of race, color, creed, religion, sexual orientation, gender, disability or national origin. RMHC/ Asian Pacific American Students Increasing Achievement (ASIA ) - Applicant must have at least one parent of Asian-Pacific heritage. Criteria: Leadership, drive, integrity, and citizenship, academic performance, financial need, and recommendations. Application is accepted by nomination only, by an eligible community leader, such as a high school principal, elected official or executive director of a nonprofit organization.

Edison International Scholars January 10, 2013 Award: $10,000/year for 4 years Eligibility: Plan to be a full-time student majoring in math, physics, chemistry, engineering, materials science or computer science/information systems. Eligibility: Must submit common application to Boston University No strict requirements, but majority of previous winners had 4.0 GPAs and were ranked in the top 5-10% of their class. Criteria: Must submit application along with a 600 word essay and nomination letter from principal or headmaster. Davila Scholarship Fund January 20, 2013 Award: $1,000 2,500 Eligibility: High school seniors graduating in the year of application from a public school in Ventura County, and who will attend an accredited four-year college or university in the fall term following selection of awards. Students must be working in the food industry, or sons and daughters of parents working in the food industry (the food industry is defined as retail supermarket companies, manufacturers, brokers or distributors of food products sold in retail food stores; individuals working in a fast food or regular restaurant are not eligible to apply). Criteria: Application materials are available at Gates Millenium Scholars January 16, 2013 Award: Support for the cost of education by covering unmet need and self-help aid, including graduate school funding for continuing Scholars in the areas of computer science, education, engineering, library science, mathematics, public health or science. Eligibility: African-American, American Indian/Alaska Native, Asian Pacific Islander or Hispanic American seniors with a minimum 3.3 unweighted GPA, will be enrolling in a college or university in the fall of 2013, have demonstrated leadership through community service, extracurricular or other activities, and meet the Federal Pell Grant eligibility criteria. 6 6 College of Idaho Visionary Scholars Program February 1, 2013 Award: $10,000 annual, renewable Eligibility: High school seniors who apply and are accepted to the College of Idaho; have a 3.0 cumulative GPA through 7 semesters of high school; have a minimum 22 ACT composite or 1030 SAT score (Critical reading and math), and are residents of New England, Colorado, Hawaii or California. Criteria: 500-word essay that describes how attending the College of Idaho will help achieve your vision. Selection is by school nomination.
